Republicans & Trump are planning to gut Medicaid, SNAP, & put an additional 10%-20% sales tax on nearly everything you buy so they can give MORE tax breaks to billionaires.
Republican economics: Tax breaks for the rich, paid for by working Americans.

Here's what this will look like:
Our military being used on Americans (citizens WILL be caught up in an operation this large)
Mass surveillance
Families ripped apart
Closed businesses, soaring prices, empty grocery shelves
This will hurt all of us.

2024 has been a year of major Black excellence, and I’m beyond honored to be named 24th on The Root 100 most influential Black Americans list. Thank you to The Root for 15 years of celebrating and uplifting Black culture!
On food safety: RFK Jr. is a big fan of raw milk, and has advocated for removing regulations and safety guidelines on raw milk products.
Drinking raw milk exposes you to E. coli, listeria, bird flu, and more, and has already led to outbreaks.
www.independent.co.uk/life-style/h...
On abortion: Project 2025 calls for the FDA to reverse the approval of medication abortion drugs and take them off the market, effectively banning abortion for millions.
Would RFK Jr. ban abortion? Unclear - he changes his mind about it every few months. www.cbsnews.com/news/rfk-jr-...
Don't think polio could come back? Think again. In 2019, RFK Jr. used his anti-vax non-profit to promote lies about vaccines in Samoa. Vaccine rates fell, and a deadly measles outbreak raged across the island.
83 people died. Most of them were children. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
On pandemics: RFK Jr. told the Trump team in Oct. 2024 that as head of HHS he'll find 'federal data' to show vaccination is dangerous & yank vaccines off the market.
Vaccination eliminated polio & smallpox in the US. Under RFK Jr, they could come back. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...
First, context: HHS controls the CDC, Medicare/Medicaid, the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health, and a whole bunch of other health-related agencies.
Whoever leads HHS has to handle pandemics, food safety, abortion access, and drug research.
And the terrible Trump Cabinet picks keep coming. Let's talk RFK Jr. for Health and Human Services Secretary.
Let's ignore the fact that he may have eaten a dog and proudly stated a worm ate part of his brain.
The more important question: what would this mean for YOU? 🧵
Biden's policy would have expanded overtime eligibility to 4 million workers, stopping employers from requiring workers to work over 40 hours without compensation.
Prepare to (not) be shocked: the judge that overturned it was appointed by Donald Trump. news.bloomberglaw.com/daily-labor-...
I had an incredibly emotional visit yesterday with these fantastic Black Home Educators. The joy on the students' faces and the excitement they had for learning was beyond inspiring. We will NOT allow anyone to censor Black history, in our classrooms and in our homes!
Email is faster, but we respond to both!
There are 90,000 DACA recipients - people who have never known any home but the United States! - in Texas. Thanks to President Biden, they can now purchase healthcare insurance on the ACA Marketplace.
If this applies to you, don't wait. Get covered now. www.texastribune.org/2024/11/12/t...
Am I the only person who finds it suspicious that Matt Gaetz bounced from Congress TWO DAYS before the Ethics Committee report on his alleged sex trafficking (among other things) was due to come out? I got into his nomination for AG with Laura Coates.
youtu.be/iaXy6ogHiwY?...
Matt Gaetz would be the least qualified Attorney General in recent history.
He would be utterly unprepared to prosecute cases of domestic terrorism, civil rights abuses, and of course, federal sex crimes (which Gaetz has been investigated for).
www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
Let's talk about Trump nominating Rep. Matt Gaetz for Attorney General.
Is he qualified? No.
Does he have prosecutorial experience? No. . . unless you count being investigated for child sex trafficking by the DOJ and House Ethics as 'experience'. abcnews.go.com/US/witness-t...

Marjorie Taylor Greene is leading proceedings on House floor and all I can think about is if she’s wearing that chapstick.
Never thought I’d see anything cringier than the golden escalator but this…this may top it

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
