Millions of travelers hike, bike, and camp on Colorado's public lands every year. Now Republicans are pushing a plan that would put 14 million acres on the chopping block—threatening our beautiful public lands and the local communities that rely on them. Colorado's land is not for sale.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social and I are unified in our opposition to this bill, and we’re fighting every day to stop it so we can protect SNAP recipients, Medicaid beneficiaries, and CO’s clean energy future. (2/2)
Hey @govofco.bsky.social, thanks for your recent letters about the big, ugly, Republican bill and its dangerous impact on Coloradans. I agree that this bill would be a disaster for Colorado, which is why I voted against it, along with every other CO House Democrat. (1/2)
Heartbroken by the politically motivated attacks on two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses. Violence is never the answer. We must stand united in condemning political violence wherever it occurs.
Knitting and plotting to thwart Trumps extreme agenda. Happy National Knitting in Public Day from me and my fellow Congressional knitters, @repgwenmoore.bsky.social & @pingree.house.gov 🧶
We live in a democracy, not an autocracy. The Trump administration must be held accountable, and these actions against Americans exercising their lawful rights, including elected officials, must end immediately. 2/2
The video of Senator Padilla being aggressively removed is shocking. He was asking a question of Secretary Noem at a PUBLIC press conference in a federal office building and he was forcibly removed from the room, thrown to the ground, and handcuffed. 1/2
Trump is putting his rich polluting donors before millions of Americans...again. Scrapping Biden-era protections is a short-sighted decision that will increase air pollution, exacerbate respiratory diseases, and accelerate the climate crisis—with deadly consequences for our health and our planet.
Great meeting Michael Massey, our 2025 Congressional Art Competition winner from Denver!    His talent and creativity blew me away — and now his artwork will hang in the U.S. Capitol for all visitors to see.    Congratulations, Michael. 🎨🏆
Great to join @Axios.com last night to discuss my work as the top Democrat on the Health Subcommittee. From expanding and safeguarding health care to bolstering our nation's biomedical research, I'm proud to lead efforts in Congress to ensure a healthier future for every American.
Horrifying. Not only are guns the leading cause of child deaths, but kids are dying from guns at higher rates in states with weak gun laws. As a member of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, I’m fighting to pass gun safety laws now b/c this crisis demands action—our kids’ lives are on the line.
During today’s Energy Subcommittee hearing, I pressed DOE Secretary Wright on how Trump's Admin plans to meet its energy goals after cutting vital DOE staff/programs. America should lead the clean energy sector, but we can't if we're slashing its budget & getting rid of the very people who power it.
RFK Jr.'s firing of the CDC’s vaccine panel is his latest assault on science & Americans’ health. This is a blatant attempt to remove experts who disagree with his conspiracy theories. As the top Dem on the Health Subcommittee, I’ll fight to hold him accountable & defend evidence-based policies.
This decision risks escalating conflict at a time when communities are calling for change, not crackdowns. The right to peaceful protest is a cornerstone of our democracy, and I fully support CA's leaders in demanding that Trump end this unlawful deployment. (2/2)
Trump’s move to deploy the National Guard in Los Angeles is a disturbing abuse of power that puts public safety at risk. Undermining state authority and using military force as domestic law enforcement sets a dangerous precedent, especially at a moment of heightened tension. (1/2)
🚨 As the top Dem on the Health Subcommittee, I'm calling on NIH Director Bhattacharya to appear before Energy and Commerce over alarming disruptions at NIH. With thousands of staff layoffs, research grants canceled, and massive cuts, the threat this Admin poses to our health is too high to ignore.
