Today we remember the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore Maryland, where 6 hardworking Americans lost their lives. I am keeping their families and the Baltimore community in my prayers today, as they continue to rebuild.
Wondering how this happened? This is the team picked by President Trump, who stored classified documents in a Mar-a-Lago bathroom.
There’s no media conspiracy here—they are careless about national security, & it puts us in danger. Hegseth & Waltz should be fired immediately.
Trump and Elon’s SNAP cuts won’t cause “food insecurity”—they will cause hunger. I say hunger because that’s what it is. These cuts will take food off the tables of kids, seniors, and working-class families all to fund tax breaks for billionaires. We must fight.
15 years ago, this week, the Affordable Care Act was signed into law. I will continue to do everything in my power to protect this lifesaving legislation, because the lives of thousands of hardworking middle class and vulnerable Americans depend on it!

Today we mark how far into 2025 women must work to match what men earned in 2024 — a wage gap that has widened to 75¢ on the dollar. On #EqualPayDay, I joined @demwomencaucus.bsky.social to call on Congress to pass our Paycheck Fairness Act and demand women receive equal pay for equal work.

Equal pay is key for a more fair, prosperous world. But on this #EqualPayDay, here’s the reality: for the first time in 20+ years, the wage gap widened, setting women back instead of continuing to move us forward. The @demwomencaucus.bsky.social and I are fighting to close the gap for good.
On average, women earn just 75 cents for every dollar men make— with an even greater disparity for women of color. This Equal Pay Day, I stand with my @demwomencaucus.bsky.social us colleagues as I reintroduce the Paycheck Fairness Act, to ensure all women are paid fairly for their work.
Thank you @fernandez.house.gov for joining me today in calling for equal pay for equal work for the hardworking woman across the country! It really is this simple: men and women in the same job deserve the same pay.
Heartbreaking loss for UConn, but this team has shown incredible talent, resilience, and heart all season. This is not the end—it’s motivation for what’s next. Connecticut is proud of you!
Education is the foundation of economic opportunity and the American Dream— Republicans’ decades long plan to gut education means fewer children can achieve that dream. We can’t build a better future for our children by taking opportunities away.
A new DOJ rule is going into effect tomorrow. President Trump is putting lives at risk. By making it easier for guns to get in the hands of felons and domestic abusers, he will make our communities less safe. This dangerous move will cost lives.
Republicans are pushing cuts to benefits to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Nearly 70 million people rely on Social Security, including thousands in CT-03—retirees, disabled workers, & children—who’ll lose the benefits they’ve earned, all to enrich the wealthiest individuals.
Medicaid saves lives. Without coverage, Americans will die. In Connecticut's 3rd district alone, the Republicans are jeopardizing 229,000 Americans who depend on Medicaid. I will always stand against cutting critical care to our families.
Thank you Sean Scanlon CT Comptroller and Suzanne Lagarde CEO of Fair Haven Community Health Care for joining me to discuss the implications of cuts to Medicaid for our CT community. Conversations highlighting the real impacts of these cuts strengthen our fight against them.
Republicans are pushing for the largest Medicaid cut in history, at least $880 billion cut that will eliminate healthcare for 80 million Americans. Their bill betrays hardworking American taxpayers and hands out trillions to Trump’s billionaire buddies.
Republicans are not working on a tax bill that helps everyday families. Their current draft caters to the ultra-rich. ⬇️ The expanded, monthly CTC gave families economic security and cut child poverty in half. Republicans should enact this proven solution to high costs.
Crapo is apparently interested in a Child Tax Credit expansion that does nothing for the 1 in 4 kids whose families don't make enough to get the full credit. At the same time, Crapo *is* interested in providing a further tax break to the heirs of estates worth over $28M per couple.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone celebrating! 🍀 Had a fantastic time this weekend at the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New Haven.
