Wishing you all a happy New Year’s Eve! While reflecting on the challenges of this past year, I find hope and renewed energy in the growing number of neighbors pushing back against the Trump regime’s march toward authoritarianism.
Impossible to collect all of Trump’s wrongdoing in one article, but this provides a reasonable summary.
With only half of its hospitals partially functioning and the highest number of child amputees per capita worldwide, Gaza has certainly not received the peace Trump promised. This Christmas is a time of continued suffering.
With so many still being killed, Trump's ceasefire in Gaza is not really a ceasefire. And Israel is exacerbating the health crisis by denying doctors entry into the enclave during a brutal winter.
We need more courageous journalists like Sharyn Alfonsi and an end to this wrongful abuse.
The report highlights the dubious legality of Trump’s deportations of migrants to El Salvador’s prison, the human rights abuse they endured there, and the usual lack of transparency and accountability. These stories must be told without our major media yielding to intimidation.
After damaging its credibility in its desire to please Trump, CBS withheld an important report, which through another error, you can still watch here. This represents the very type of responsible investigative reporting that the Trump regime is determined to silence.
They could be difficult with tactics not always productive, but the causes advanced were just—independent living, health care access, and removing barriers to opportunity for all. I last joined them at a rally against Trump gerrymandering at the State Capitol in July.
