Here’s the thing: Republicans control the House, the Senate and the White House.
If they pass this dirty bill, they own the health care crisis.
If it fails, they own the shutdown.
That’s what you get when you go at it alone.
Whatever outcome—Republicans will only have themselves to blame.

Every National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor the courageous servicemembers who refused to give up—even in the most harrowing of circumstances.
We owe a debt to these heroes we can never fully repay.
NEWS: SASC Democrats and I are officially calling on Chair Wicker to hold on a hearing on Donald Trump's ongoing military deployments to cities across the country.
Our nation's servicemembers and the American people deserve transparency.
This Hispanic Heritage Month, we lift up and celebrate our loved ones, friends and neighbors in the Latino community.
We see their contributions in every corner of our country.
We hear their stories that Trump seeks to erase.
We celebrate them—always.
I am deeply disturbed by and closely monitoring the truly awful incident that occurred in Franklin Park today.
As the situation develops, our community deserves the full, unvarnished details of what happened.
Trump’s DHS may have fled from us last week, but Senator Durbin, Congressman Schneider and I are still looking for answers.
We need to know what Trump’s plans are for Naval Station Great Lakes.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, the first responders who bravely ran into danger to save their neighbors and the families who still carry the weight of that tragic day.
We will never forget.
Putin is testing NATO allies' commitment to mutual defense.
Trump must make clear that our support for NATO is ironclad and also that we remain united against Putin's aggression—
In Poland, Ukraine and beyond.
It does not matter which side you are on. There is simply no place for political violence in this country.
This is horrifying and should not happen in America.
I wish Charlie Kirk a swift and full recovery.
To the Latino community and all those who will now be targeted by Trump based on how they “look”—
We are with you. We will defend your rights.
And so it begins.
This is not about law and order—if it was, Trump would coordinate with the city and police on public safety.
Instead, he's planning to invade, intimidate and stage chaos all so he can swoop in and play the hero.
Nothing about this is normal. NOTHING.

"This is not the action of someone that's doing something legal or that they're proud of" -- Duckworth says the Trump administration locked the doors and "fled the base" when she and other Democrats went to visit Great Lakes Naval Base
Reposted byTammy Duckworth
Duckworth: "Let's make it clear -- the President of the United States essentially just declared war on a major city in his own nation. This is not normal. This is not acceptable behavior."
No Donald, Chicago is not your war zone
Instead of going after violent criminals, Trump is raiding workplaces and detaining hardworking people—including citizens.
And the message being sent to South Korea? That the U.S. is no place to do business.
He's hurting families, our economy and our alliances all in one swoop.
Take off that Cavalry hat, you draft dodger.
You didn’t earn the right to wear it.
Stolen valor at its worst.
I just visited Naval Station Great Lakes that Trump is letting DHS use as they prepare to invade Chicago.
The Navy cooperated and took the time to answer our questions.
Trump’s DHS locked the doors and fled.
That’s not how you act when you’re doing something legal.
Why stop there? Let’s rename all Depts after what Trump is inflicting on America.
Dept of HHS -> Dept of Hepatitis and Human Suffering
Dept of VA -> Dept of Veteran Abandonment
Dept of Education -> Dept of Erasure of History
Dept of Commerce -> Dept of Corruption
Just a start.
Republican cuts to Medicaid and SNAP won’t just hurt middle-class families—they’ll tank our economy.
Soon, we’ll lose:
➡️ 1.2 million jobs
➡️ $12.2 billion for state and local budgets
Plus, more expensive health care and food.
All for tax cuts billionaires don't need.
Trump confirmed it. Chicago is next.
And now, he plans to let his ICE agents operate out of Naval Station Great Lakes—where thousands of new recruits train every year.
@durbin.senate.gov and I are demanding a meeting with the Secretary of the Navy. Our troops deserve answers.
