ICYMI: I just sent out a newsletter on Trump and Musk's lies about Social Security and the damage they've done to the SSA. Read it here: foster.house.gov/newsletters

ICYMI: My in-person town hall is tomorrow night! We're at capacity and registration is closed, but you can still watch the event tomorrow on Zoom.
To watch the town hall, follow this link at 7:00 p.m. CT tomorrow: ushr.zoomgov.com/j/1617552681... or visit foster.house.gov/townhall.
Tax Day is here. This filing season, you might notice that your refund’s taking longer or that it’s harder to get help from the IRS. You can thank Trump and DOGE.
So much for "efficiency."
I was proud to vote against the SAVE Act. Here’s my statement on Republicans’ latest attack on voting rights:
Republicans are pushing a reckless budget plan that would gut essential programs that millions of Americans count on—just to hand out even more tax breaks to billionaires. These cuts would have real consequences for families in IL-11.
I'm voting NO.
It was great to visit the Aurora African American Health Coalition Fair this past weekend. We're lucky to have this great resource right here in our community!
Gutting the CFPB’s rule to tackle overdraft fees is just another step in Republicans' plan to “delete” the agency and dismantle protections against abusive and predatory actions by big banks.
Yet again, Republicans are proving that they are on the side of big banks and billionaires—not consumers.
Trump's 90-day pause on his tariffs is an admission that they were bad policy to begin with. Trump is not negotiating—he's walking back a disastrous idea because markets tanked and all signs were pointing to a recession.
Small businesses and consumers deserve stability, not back and forth chaos.
This week, I introduced the Keep STEM Talent Act with Rep. Mike Lawler.
This bipartisan piece of legislation would retain the international students that receive their advanced STEM degrees here in the US and want to stay and contribute to our economy.
Recently, I had the privilege of hosting a pinning ceremony to honor our community's Vietnam War veterans and their surviving spouses.
We must never forget the sacrifices made by these brave men and women, and the enduring resilience they've shown in service to our nation.
When Trump promised to reduce prices, I guess he meant stock prices...
www.nytimes.com/live/2025/04...
Trump's tariffs have already unleashed financial chaos. Stocks are plunging, global markets are tanking, and prices are going up.
In true Trump fashion, billionaires will be unscathed while hardworking Americans pay the price.
Trump is forcing us into a needless trade war with no clear objective or strategy. History has proven time and again—including during Trump's first Administration—that these tariffs will raise costs for American consumers and businesses.
NEWS: A federal judge has blocked Trump from dismantling the CFPB.
Over 200 of my Democratic colleagues and I filed a brief in support of the lawsuit to save the CFPB and protect American consumers from scammers and fraud.
Trump's agenda is losing in the courts and we’re not letting up.
Yesterday, Speaker Johnson tried to kill a bipartisan resolution that would allow new moms to vote by proxy.
After he failed, he canceled all business for the rest of the week. Republican leadership would rather quit and go home than let new moms vote.

UPDATE: We've hit our 350-person capacity for my upcoming McHenry County town hall, so registration is now closed. This event will be livestreamed.
IL-11 spans eight counties, so we will have more in-person town halls in different parts of the district over the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned!
With all the chaos going on in Washington, it's always nice to come home and spend time with brilliant, young minds.
This past weekend, I had the chance to attend the Intercontinental Scholastic Chess Tournament in Aurora and watch teams from all over the world compete right here in IL-11!
Mark your calendars! Wednesday, April 16, I'll be hosting an in-person town hall at McHenry County College at 7:00 PM CT. This is a ticketed event and registration will be required. This event will be livestreamed.
