It has been three years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and even longer since some people in Texas started threatening women for traveling out of state to get reproductive health care. [1/3]
From questioning vaccine science to undermining critical research at our hospitals to dismantling Health and Human Services programs, Secretary Kennedy's actions have caused great concern in TX07.
Tomorrow, he will testify before the E&C committee. Watch here at 9am CDT ➡️

Reports of Iranian missiles launched toward American troops in the Middle East are exactly why President Trump’s unilateral decision to attack Iran without Congressional authorization is so dangerous. It’s also unconstitutional.
@jahimes.bsky.social breaks down the latest in the conflict.
Last month, I signed a letter requesting that next year's budget preserve funding for specialized support for LGBTQ+ people at the 9-8-8 suicide hotline. The Trump administration has now decided to eliminate it anyway—despite instruction from Congress and need for the program.
This week, along with @demwomencaucus.bsky.social, we urged Secretary Bessent to investigate the impacts of these tariffs that disproportionately harm women. [2/2]
Even before President Trump increased tariffs, @pettersen.house.gov & I were fighting for tariff equality.
Now, with the Trump tariffs going into effect, we're learning that they'll place even higher import taxes on women than men for the same or similar products, including razors & clothes. [1/2]

The Trump-Vance Admin is officially ending the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline’s LGBTQI+ support services.
Saving lives is *not* a partisan issue, which is why there’s bipartisan support for these services.
We’ll keep fighting to reverse these cuts & fund these services.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @algreen.house.gov pays tribute to the great American holiday of Juneteenth.
Today, we celebrate #Juneteenth and all it represents, in Texas and across the country as a day of freedom, progress, and hope. It is important that we know and learn from our history—all of it—to ensure the promise of America for all of its citizens. Especially now.
Team #TX07 will be at Southwest Management District's Liberty Fest at PlazAmericas on Sunday, June 29. Stop by our booth until 7pm with your questions about federal agencies!
Did you know? In 2022, DACA recipients, Dreamers, contributed nearly $2.1 billion to Social Security and Medicare. Dreamers are part of the fabric of our society, in #TX07 and across the country. And that's why I have again sponsored the Dream and Promise Act.

Father’s Day is Sunday, and on today’s Democratic Daily Download @gomez.house.gov shares how House Democrats are fighting for dads and families across America.
This #ImmigrantHeritageMonth, we honor those who left their homes and all they knew in the search for a better life, and in #TX07, we celebrate the growing number who chose Houston as the place to do it.
From culture and community to our economy, immigrants make Houston a wonderful place to live.
President Trump finally asked Congress to take back the funding Congress provided for agencies Congress established, on a bipartisan basis, that he has withheld. It's a question of what we value and whether people can count on us. Republicans voted yes. I voted no. ➡️
The unprecedented detention of a U.S. Senator attempting to perform his oversight duties is not normal, not democratic, and not acceptable. Every member of Congress—Republican and Democrat alike—must speak out against this abuse and assault on our Congress and our Constitution.
Proposed cuts to the Department of Energy's research budget create uncertainty for people in #TX07 who are working on innovative energy projects—and for every Texan who is hoping for improvements to our energy infrastructure to withstand extreme weather events.
Today, our Energy subcommittee will question Energy Secretary Chris Wright about the proposed budget for DOE, which just last month canceled billions in grants for groundbreaking energy projects in Texas.
Follow along here ⬇️
Next Friday, June 13, our Team #TX07 constituent advocates will be at the Tracy Gee Community Center to help answer your questions regarding federal agencies, like Social Security and the IRS.
