Yesterday, I cosponsored the Block the Bombs Act to prevent the sale of offensive weapons to Israel. (1/3)
I’m proud to support NC Attorney General Jeff Jackson’s efforts to restore this funding, and I will continue to explore all available avenues in Congress to support recovery efforts across #NC04.
As recovery efforts continue, the lack of FEMA Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program funding available to rebuild critical infrastructure is hurting our ability to keep North Carolinians safe.
I had the opportunity to survey the damage caused by Tropical Storm Chantal in Orange County, including at Hillsborough’s Water Treatment Plant, alongside @ocncgov.bsky.social and @ocncsolidwaste.bsky.social.

I joined @foushee.house.gov in urging EPA Administrator Zeldin to reverse the closure of the Office of Research and Development.
This office protects our air, water, and health. Cutting it would hurt communities across North Carolina and the country.

I joined @foushee.house.gov on a tour of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where we received an update on the development of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. (1/3)
@ross.house.gov and I wrote to him to urge an immediate reversal of the disastrous decision to shutter ORD. (2/2)
Despite Senate passage of FY26 funding bills that protect the Office of Research and Development, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin is still trying to cut this office, headquartered in the Research Triangle, that helps maintain clean air and water. (1/2)
As I return to NC, it's clear to me that NASA is critical to our leadership in exploration, scientific research, and commercial space while creating good-paying jobs here at home.
Ensuring proper NASA funding cannot be a question—it’s necessary to maintain preeminence in space. (6/6)
My visit was filled with updates & first-hand looks at the progress being made on space launch efforts, including stacking of the Space Launch System for the upcoming Artemis II mission, NASA-SpaceX Crew-11 launch, & Blue Origin’s New Glenn launch vehicle to deliver NASA and non-NASA payloads. (5/6)
The safety of our astronauts is paramount, and although yesterday’s attempt was scrubbed due to weather, I was glad to see today’s launch was successful. (4/6)

I also had the chance to attend the July 31st SpaceX Crew-11 launch attempt to the ISS. These NASA astronauts including UNC alumna Zena Cardman, commander of the mission, will carry out research experiments made possible by NASA’s Commercial Crew and International Space Station Programs. (3/6)
It was great to hear from NASA's Exploration Ground Systems team and see the NASA SLS rocket at the Vehicle Assembly Building. With Artemis II set to launch in 2026, we must ensure NASA can complete the historic effort to send humans around the moon for the first time since the Apollo program. (2/6)
This week, I had the pleasure to visit NASA Kennedy Space Center and Florida’s Space Coast as Ranking Member of the Space & Aeronautics Subcommittee.
More than ever, this visit left me convinced that we must ensure robust, stable and consistent funding for NASA 🧵 (1/6)
Communities nationwide are hurting— but the GOP refused to bring legislation to the floor to help working families last week.
Instead, they cancelled votes to avoid talking about Epstein in another shameful show of prioritizing Trump over everyday Americans.

There are over 600 reported deaths at their aid sites, and I'm joining my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues in demanding answers about the lack of oversight over this organization. (2/2)
As Palestinians starve, the U.S. Department of State continues to give millions to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which has no experience in delivering aid. (1/2)
Today marks the 60th anniversary of Medicaid and Medicare.
These programs are vital lifelines for millions of Americans, but the GOP made record cuts to these programs that will strip healthcare from over half a million in NC.
I won't stop fighting back against these cuts.
🚨 #NC04 Residents: I am hosting a Town Hall in Orange County on Tuesday, August 5!
Join me, Carrboro Mayor Barbara Foushee, and Orange County BOCC Chair Jamezetta Bedford to make your voice heard about important issues facing the Fourth District.
To RSVP, visit: nc04townhall.eventbrite.com
I joined #NCBEMO's Summer Conference to discuss how we can continue to push back against Trump's attacks on our communities.
It brought me joy to see so many local leaders in attendance, and I look forward to continuing the fight to safeguard our democracy alongside each of you.
