As a former volunteer myself, I’ve seen firsthand how this program transforms lives and will always fight to ensure it remains properly funded.
Today marks 61 years since #HeadStart was founded! This program has long been a major part of our nation’s efforts to bridge early learning gaps for families across the nation.
Congratulations to the North Carolina Central University Men’s Tennis Team on this recognition honoring your 2025 HBCU National Championship! This highway dedication commemorates a remarkable milestone for the program and celebrates the hard work and excellence of these student athletes and coaches.
Earlier this year, I helped introduce the Ensuring OBGYN Care in Prisons Act to ensure that all prisons with a female population employ at least one full-time OBGYN and prevent the denial of essential reproductive care to those in federal custody.

Tiffany McElroy’s story of giving birth on the prison floor as guards sat back and watched is absolutely heartbreaking.
No person should ever be denied essential healthcare—this is a deep violation of our human and civil rights standards.

After losing her son, Sewell, to suicide because of an AI chatbot, Megan Garcia has been a powerful advocate for regulating these companion chatbots and passing the GUARD Act.
Her story is one of resilience. Please take a moment to listen to her explain why this work is so important, and urgent.
The barriers Dr. Koch continues to break is an important reminder to women around the world that we too can make lasting change and deserve the opportunity to do so.
I also had the opportunity to present NCSSM alum Dr. Christina Koch with my resolution designating May 20th as National Women in Aerospace Day which recognizes the work of trailblazing women throughout history, including Dr. Koch.
I was grateful for the opportunity to greet the Artemis II crew here in Washington.
They have inspired a generation, and as Ranking Member of the Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee, I won’t stop defending NASA funding to ensure we can continue pushing our space program forward.
As one of the few Representatives left who experienced segregation as a young girl in an all-Black elementary school, I took to the House floor to deliver a message in light of the Supreme Court's gutting of the Voting Rights Act.
We will not go back.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this year’s Military Academy Nominees from #NC04!
This group of students continues to push our nation forward, and I’m proud to see so many young people with the interest and willingness to serve our nation.
We cannot stand by as Republicans lie and claim our government cannot afford to fund healthcare and SNAP while spending billions on this war that is endangering so many lives.

Rep. Valerie Foushee says Congress has a moral obligation to end the war in Iran after President Donald Trump launched the attacks without prior authorization.
Though the legality of these markets remains contested, it's clear that they pose risks to young Americans.
Congress needs to have a full understanding of user demographics, internal policies, and safeguards in place by these companies as we work to regulate these platforms.
I’m leading a letter with @reppaultonko.bsky.social to 10 prediction market and sports-betting companies demanding clarity on how much revenue and what percentage of their users are between the ages of 18 and 24.
Prediction markets and sports gambling companies have not taken the proper steps to address the normalization of online gambling for young Americans.
This is inhumane. Israel continues to kill civilians with strikes in Lebanon including women, children and seniors.
Congress must block arms sales to Israel and pass Rep. Tlaib's Resolution to stop our military from further assisting Israel's hostilities in Lebanon.

Trump is making taxpayers front the bill for his immoral war that is killing innocent people.
Inflation is up and wage growth is slowing. We must pass a War Powers Resolution to prevent Trump from continuing to put servicemembers, innocent lives abroad, and the wellbeing of our communities at risk.
