Just gave Republicans a choice: Are you for the babies or the billionaires? For working families—or the ultra-wealthy? Watch my opening remarks in @WaysMeansCmte calling out the cruelty of their latest tax scam. 🎥
2 hours into today’s tax debate at @WaysMeansCmte and here’s what Republicans are up to: stripping the Child Tax Credit from kids who are U.S. citizens, just because their parents are permanent residents. It’s cruel, and we’re calling it out. Stay tuned for more updates.
📣 You now need a REAL ID or unexpired passport to fly domestically.
Need to renew or apply for a passport? Come to my Passport Fair this Sunday, May 18 from 9am-1pm in Northeast LA! 🔗 RSVP to make an appointment: bit.ly/maypassportf... Don’t wait—get travel-ready! 🛫
As a toddler dad, I know the stress parents feel—rising costs, long waitlists, and too few quality child care options. That’s why I’m co-leading two bills with @WhipKClark to invest in early educators and child care infrastructure. Every family deserves affordable, reliable care they can count on.
This #NationalSmallBusinessMonth, Team Gomez stopped by @PitchounBakery in DTLA to celebrate 10 sweet years in business! From fresh pastries to community spirit, this local gem has truly made its mark. Congratulations, Pitchoun! Stay tuned for more small biz success stories! 🥐🎉👏
Every student in Mr. Avila’s class at El Sereno Middle School took part in the 2024 Congressional App Challenge—and it showed. 💻✨ Their creativity and coding skills were on full display. Congrats again to Isabella Valencia on first place! 🏆
¡Feliz #DíaDeLasMadres a todas las increíbles mamás, abuelitas y figuras maternas! Estén cerca o lejos, su amor y fortaleza se sienten cada día. 💐❤️ Happy #MexicanMothersDay to all the moms, stepmoms, abuelas, and mother figures who give so much of themselves every day.
Trump’s 145% tariffs are crushing working families—raising prices on clothes, strollers, car seats, and more. While he’s doing photo ops, I’m doing real oversight at the Port of LA. 🎥 WATCH to see what’s really happening—and what’s at stake.
BREAKING: Republicans are holding hearings to pass trillions in tax breaks for billionaires—while slashing programs that help working families. This isn’t about “fiscal responsibility.” It’s about protecting the ultra-wealthy while gutting support like Social Security, Medicare, housing, education.
Republicans say cutting Medicaid won’t hurt working people—they’re straight up lying.  The CBO says Trump’s plan would kick 5.5 million off coverage, hurting kids, seniors, people with disabilities and more—all to fund billionaire tax cuts.
Calling yourself the "fertilization president" is f*cking weird @realdonaldtrump. If you want to help families grow, you should lower grocery, child care, and health care costs. Feel free to give me and the @dadscaucus a call, and we can talk about real pro-family solutions!
This #PublicServiceRecognitionWeek, I’m shouting out @AFGEunion and public service workers who keep our country running—from safe flights to paved roads. Despite attacks from Trump, Elon, and others, we’re in this fight together to protect the services our communities rely on.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month — this month is not just about raising awareness about mental health and reducing stigma, but also recognizing the importance of accessible, affordable mental health support. That's why I'm pushing for healthcare for all.
Let’s call the SAVE Act what it is: a deliberate attempt to suppress the vote of married women and communities of color. Senate Democrats must stand firm and ensure this dangerous bill remains dead on arrival.
Today on National Nurses Appreciation Day, we celebrate the compassion and care nurses bring to LA and across the country. As a former organizer for @unacuhcp, I’ve seen your impact firsthand—and I’ll always have your back. Thank you for all you do!
