There’s no plan here. Just Trump’s dumb tariffs that make everyday life more expensive: groceries, clothes, gas, cars, appliances—everything working families rely on. (2/7)

🧵 Americans are waking up to a new economic reality—higher prices, less certainty, and zero faith in our economic future. This is what happens when Donald Trump governs by ego, not economics—and Congressional Republicans enable him. (1/7)

My statement on Trump’s dumb tariffs ⬇️
Elon Musk and DOGE are infiltrating our agencies, cutting essential jobs, then trashing the agencies to the public so they can soften the blow when they sell out Americans’ best interests to pay for billionaire tax breaks.
Today we honor the life of labor rights hero César Chávez.
As a former labor organizer, I carry on his fight for better wages & benefits every day.
With workers’ rights under attack by the Trump admin, defending the right to organize has never been more important. ¡Sí se puede!
The Trump admin. is laying off thousands of health experts — people who fight infectious diseases and help Americans access Medicare and Medicaid benefits. This decision is careless and irresponsible — and it’ll cost lives, especially as measles spreads.
Noncitizens can’t vote. Trump knows this.
But he’s pushing an unlawful executive order to block millions of eligible voters anyway.
Rich coming from the guy who incited an insurrection after losing fair and square in 2020. 🤷♂️
The Trump admin isn’t fixing Social Security—it’s setting it up to fail.
While Musk snatches private data to fight non-existent fraud, GOP-backed billionaires are circling, ready to cash in on your retirement.
This isn’t reform, it’s a heist. 🚨💰
🚨Another win against Trump and DOGE! A court just blocked their attempt to seize Social Security info...for now.
Trump keeps losing in court—even in front of judges appointed by Democrat and Republican presidents. The fight isn’t over, but we’re racking up victories.💪
CA thrives when everyone has a fair shot at success—regardless of gender identity. Had a great chat with my friend @labamby and the @translatinacoalition about their work defending LGBTQ+ rights. As an ally, I'm working to ensure equal opportunities for all in our community.
🗣️Hey Republicans — instead of being Elon Musk’s personal lapdog, how about doing your job?!
I’m gonna keep demanding answers in the @WaysMeansCmte to hold Republicans accountable and protect Americans' personal taxpayer information from Musk and DOGE.
☎️ DOGE is making it harder for seniors to access their Social Security benefits.
A leaked memo shows they’re slashing phone support, leading to longer waits & delays.
Seniors paid into Social Security their whole lives—now DOGE is standing in their way of what they’ve earned.
Firefighters just fought to keep Angelenos safe from the devastating LA wildfires—risking toxic exposure that increases their cancer risk. We must have their backs.
I’m cosponsoring the FIRE Cancer Act to ensure they get lifesaving screenings at no cost.
First, reckless layoffs—now, dangerous data leaks. Elon Musk and DOGE are mishandling your sensitive personal info. These people aren’t making government more efficient—they’re ransacking our government in broad daylight.
House Republicans are letting @ElonMusk & DOGE rummage through Americans’ Social Security, bank, and health info—without accountability.
I, along @WaysMeansCmte Dems, will hold Musk accountable if they won’t. He needs to come before the committee to face the American public.
They’re finally saying the quiet part out loud—Project 2025 is Trump’s Agenda.
And here’s the thing, it’s bad for our economy and country🚨 :
💰 Tax breaks for billionaires
❌ Gutting Medicaid
⚠️ Attacking workers’ & women’s rights
We must fight back and stand up for working families.
While Trump attacks health care for seniors & people with disabilities, I’m fighting to expand it.
I’m cosponsoring legislation with @RepLloydDoggett and @SenSanders to ensure Medicare covers dental, hearing & vision—because everyone should have access to the care they need.
🚨 The Republican budget proposal could strip California of tens of billions in federal funding for Medi-Cal (Medicaid) and CalFresh (SNAP). Cuts of this size would leave millions of families without access to affordable health care or food assistance. #MedicaidDayofAction
My honored guest for Trump’s address to Congress is Dr. Ilhan Shapiro—a community health pediatrician serving kids in #CA34.
Dr. Shapiro knows the stakes of Trump and the GOP trying to gut Medicaid & slash critical medical research to fund tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.
