Important discussion at SeaGate Food Bank about rising food prices, food assistance, ways to counter food insecurity, and places those in need can turn. Thank you to the United Way, Connecting Kids to Meals, the National Association of Letter Carriers and Toledo Community Foundation for taking part.
Great to meet with local business owner and Marine veteran Roger Kuns of Kuns Northcoast Security. In 10 years they have grown from 2 employees to 12 with offices in Fremont and Perrysburg, working with schools, hospitals, manufacturing, and governmental facilities across our region of NW Ohio.

Founded in 1911, Omega Psi Phi has 250,000 members nationwide dedicated to the principles of uplifting scholarship and perseverance while living by the motto "Friendship is Essential to the Soul.” Honored to join their 84th annual meet up and welcome attendees from across Ohio and West Virginia.

Thanks @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social and all those who came out in #Toledo yesterday for the FLOC #union rally and march for true immigration reform first brought up by Ronald Reagan.

Took part in the groundbreaking for the new Four County Career Center Expansion in Archbold — a true launchpad for opportunity for our future workforce across Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams Counties. For many this will mean better wages, workplace safety, job security, and dignity on the job.
For decades, the Wayman Palmer YMCA has been a pillar of the Warren Sherman neighborhood. It is more than a building—it's a beacon for enjoyment, a hub of our community, and a promise to children, families, and neighbors. I look forward to the Grand Opening of the new Wayman Palmer YMCA on May 12.
Packed house in Wauseon today for an educational event on history of WWII. 500+ students from Fayette, Wauseon, Evergreen, and Swanton High Schools. Honored to take part in this tribute to the Greatest Generation, who I call the most unselfish generation. They fought to preserve Liberty for us all.
In NW Ohio we take the responsibility to tend for the largest fresh water body on Earth seriously. Our Great Lakes are the beating heart of our regional economy. We will not stand idly by, while short sighted tariffs and attempts to gut programs that protect our water, health, and jobs are proposed.
The Trump Budget plan to slash clean energy and water infrastructure funding, is shortsighted and dangerous.
They threaten families, the Great Lakes, public safety, and America’s energy future.
We should invest, not retreat.

On #InternationalWorkersDay, we honor the legacy and bravery of workers throughout history who fought for dignity on the job for all working people ✊
I am privileged to represent hardworking urban and rural communities in NW Ohio where neighbors look out for one another. But now, families are struggling to put food on the table. They're being priced out of grocery stores — with costs way up on meat, milk, bread, eggs — basics they all depend on.

The Heartland is the heart of America where we make things and grow things.
Held a press conference with @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social and Heartland Caucus members to highlight the impacts of Trump’s chaos during his first 100 days on workers and industries in the Midwest.
Joined @debbiedingell.house.gov, @repshontelbrown.bsky.social, and @rephaleystevens.bsky.social to advocate for the future of our Great Lakes and Heartland region. We are fighting for working families, standing with Canada, and calling out reckless tariffs that are hurting our communities.
This National Apprenticeship Day, we recognize that skilled trades aren’t just jobs — they’re the backbone of our economy. In NW Ohio, apprenticeships offer a path to stability, purpose, and pride. Investing in jobs and careers is an investment in the future of our region.
April is #CommunityCollegeMonth! Proud to support local Ohio Community Colleges by securing Millions in federal funding, and championing student success. Community Colleges create a path to opportunity in NW Ohio and across our nation. I’ll always support their mission to help serve our students.

The Women of the Six Triple Eight are true American heroes.
At its 100 day mark, DOGE and the Trump Administration are blocking over $430 Billion in funding meant for our communities. It’s money for jobs to rebuild roads, support kids in schools, and help families in every ZIP code.
Find out exactly where they cost us jobs here:
Reckless tariffs are causing great harm on both sides of the US-Canada border. We must work to restore normal cultural, economic, and political relations with our neighbor and ally. House GOP: allow an up or down vote to revoke these harmful tariffs that are crippling our Great Lakes economy.
