Budgets are a reflection of a nation’s values. We live in a moment in our country when 1% of our population, the very top, hold as much wealth as the bottom half of our country. This Republican budget is a bonanza for Billionaires. For shame.
Nearly 6,000 vets have lost their jobs under Trump and Musk’s broad brush purge of public servants—up to 500,000 more could be next.
These aren’t just numbers—these are vets who served our country and now risk losing their livelihoods.
Congress and the courts must defend those who defended us.
Tonight at 7:00 pm I will host a one hour Telephone Townhall for citizens across NW Ohio to hear your comments and concerns. You can join us live and ask questions at Access.Live/Kaptur. Look forward to speaking to you tonight.

On the solemn 3rd anniversary of Russia’s brutal, illegal war on Ukraine, I stand with those who fight to preserve their young democracy.
President Trump’s betrayal of Ukraine is a global embarrassment.
All elected leaders — including Republicans — must demand better.
Today I led more than a dozen Ukraine Caucus colleagues to say loud and clear that Dictator Vladimir Putin needs to go back inside his own borders.
3 years after Russia’s full-scale invasion, we in Congress and the majority of the American people continue to stand with Ukraine. Slava Ukraini!🇺🇦🇺🇸

Joined @fpwellman.bsky.social for On Democracy this weekend. We covered a range of topics important to my work representing families and constituents across NW Ohio.

Proud to have your support and continue to earn it. We in NW Ohio are all in this together.
These men and women protect our nuclear arsenal, lead our military in time of war, drive medical research, and ensure Social Security reaches those who need it most. We must all stand up and make our voices heard.
They are firing those who keep us safe. This is not a strategy for a smarter, more efficient federal workforce that better serves working Americans. Our people deserve so much more.
Great to host a bipartisan virtual Farm Bill Town Hall with stakeholders from across NW Ohio. Thanks to House Agriculture Chairman Rep. GT Thompson for joining to hear from NW Ohioans who make and grow what makes and grows America, because feeding and growing America transcends political divides.
Many rural Americans and seniors especially rely on USPS delivering to neighborhoods that private companies won’t, and do so at a fair price. We cannot cut off this critical lifeline for our people. Immediate attention should be paid to this, and there should be hearings in the Oversight Committee.
The United States Postal Service is just that — a public service for the American people. No matter where you live, neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor hail, they will deliver. Any attempt to shutter it would take an act of Congress. Efforts to close or privatize USPS would cause undue harm.
Yesterday, President Trump endorsed $880 BILLION in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act — breaking his promise.
Ohioans rely on these programs for care. Slashing them to fund a $4.5 TRILLION tax break for the billionaire class is a betrayal.
I will fight this with everything I’ve got.
1000 workers have been fired from Dept. of Vet Affairs, including veteran Andrew Lennox who was actively serving NW Ohioans at the VA. Andrew served as a marine in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria — he, and the fellow veterans he serves, deserve so much more. The indiscriminate, illegal cuts must stop.
🚨Scam Alert!🚨
The Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General is warning about a scam targeting those applying for retirement benefits.
If you receive an email directing you to an unknown site, it's not from SSA—it's a scam!

I released 7 fact sheets yesterday with @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social detailing how President Trump’s funding freeze is raising prices for Americans across the country and making us less safe.

Ukraine did not start this war — Russia did. Assertions to the contrary are dangerous, and leave Ukraine and our European allies in grave danger. It is vital America stand for Liberty in Ukraine in the face of Vladimir Putin’s brutal, illegal war. We cannot abandon our friends in their time of need.

Last night, Trump said he wouldn't cut Medicaid.
He just endorsed the House Republican budget that makes at least $880 BILLION in cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act.
They'll say or do anything to get more giveaways for their billionaire donors.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
