America was not built on protectionism, isolationism, nativism, or arbitrarism. You can't decouple us from the world, demonize immigrants, and arbitrarily fire government officials you disagree with and expect our economy to thrive.
(Thread) Dems do not need histrionics to make the economic case against Donald Trump & JD Vance.
Just the facts, man. Blanket tariffs, deportation of law abiding immigrants, firing of independent officials & attack on universities & corporations is leading to stagflation.
Free advice to President Trump: If you want the Fed to cut rates support my bipartisan bill to repeal the coffee tariff & repeal blanket tariffs on things we don't make in America. It will yield more results than firing Fed board members!
As a champion of economic patriotism & co-author of CHIPS, I support gov't financing & taking some equity in Intel. FDR & Obama did similar. But Dems believe it MUST be linked to high wages for workers, investment in factory towns & rural America, & tackling the economic divide.
Thank you @kenmartin.bsky.social for proposing to eliminate Super Pacs for the 2028 Presidential primary. Having a Super Pac should be disqualifying. We need a party standing for M4A, human rights in Gaza, taxing wealth, repeal of fossil fuel subsidies.

Breaking news: Only 3% of the documents given to the Oversight Committee are new. The rest are already in the public domain. Less than 1% of files have been released.
Pass my bill with Rep. Thomas Massie to force the full release of the Epstein files while protecting the victims.
To my progressive friends in California. We stood for Sanders in 2016 & 2020.
Today, let us support @gavinnewsom.bsky.social California's redistricting.
They are eliminating Black seats in the South. They are gutting voting rights.
We must not reverse the clock to pre 1965.
Only 2% of Americans think Trump's economy is excellent.
76% think it is bad, very bad, or terrible.
Are you better off today than 8 months ago?
It's the economy, stupid.

58% of Americans believe that every country in the United Nations should recognize a Palestinian state.
Thank you @jstreetdotorg.bsky.social for this thoughtful conversation about how we can make this a reality.

I’m proud to endorse @rohitforatlanta.bsky.social, who has a vision for an Atlanta economy that works for everyone and improves economic mobility.
Proud to be with my friends @ninaturner.bsky.social and Killer Mike.
Legend has it...
The problem is not with the @teamsters.bsky.social or Sean O'Brien. The problem is with the Democratic party that lost the Teamsters.
Over 550 people joined my Reno town hall yesterday in Rep. Amodei's district, which has many rural areas.
Americans are tired of Republicans giving tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy while cutting Medicaid and food assistance from veterans and the working class.
I talked with @velshi.com about my bipartisan effort to repeal the coffee tax.
I will be introducing bipartisan legislation to repeal tariffs on coffee. We produce less than 1%, and these tariffs on Brazil, Vietnam, Indonesia, & Columbia are a 15-20% tax on Americans at the start of their day. Anyone who has a coffee cup always in hand hates this tax!
I agree with Attorney General Ford —homes should be owned by people.
My bill, the Stop Wall Street Landlords Act, will prevent private equity from buying up single-family homes.
Join me at my town hall in Reno on Sunday to talk about it: mobilize.us/s/Rzxdu4
Republicans shut down Congress to prevent a vote on the Epstein files, and now Trump is sending in 800 National Guard and taking over DC’s police department.
The violence against Sikh Americans is outrageous & unacceptable. My heart broke reading the story of this 70 year old man. I love going to Gurdwara and for Langar. We must not just condemn this assault, but also appreciate the beauty of Sikhism.

When Congress returns, I’m motioning to subpoena the Epstein “birthday book” and hosting a press conference joined by survivors of Epstein and Maxwell’s abuse.
@lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com, thank you for highlighting this effort and being a leading voice on this issue.
My thoughts are with the @steelworkers.bsky.social and everyone impacted by the tragedy yesterday in Clairton, PA.
Thankful for the first responders who rushed in to help.
