The Trump Administration cruelly attempted to freeze funding for child care, social services, and more to five Democratic-led states.
That sh*t was not legal, and we fought back in court and won. @replsimon.bsky.social joined me to break down Trump's heartlessness.
An employee from your agency was murdered by another federal agency, and your reaction is not to demand accountability but to blame Democrats?
There is no one at fault for this but ICE and this Administration that enables them to operate with violence, cruelty, and impunity. (2/2)
Alex Pretti was a selfless civil servant who dedicated his career to helping care for our veterans—and his life was stolen by Trump's lawless paramilitary while he peacefully protested. (1/2)
Yes, Kristi Noem should be impeached. What we're seeing in the news scares me to death.
DHS got $191 billion in the Big Ugly Bill, and she has not come before @democrats-judiciary.house.gov to explain to the American people and Congress how she's using that money.
ICE just murdered another U.S. citizen in Minnesota. Masked, trigger-happy agents are acting with impunity, and the Trump Admin yet again rushed to defend ICE before getting the facts.
We need accountability. ICE out of our cities. No more money for DHS. Stop the killings.
ICE is now terrorizing FIVE-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN.
Trump said ICE's mandate was to go after criminals. So why was Liam Ramos detained, arrested, and sent to Texas after coming home from preschool??
JD Vance should think about how it could be his kids being snatched up by ICE.
After murdering Renée Good, ICE just told its agents to keep breaking the law.
We need accountability NOW. Impeach Kristi Noem.
Trump’s press conference and Davos speech were unhinged—and the videos would be funny if they weren’t both sad and terrifying.
Trump is clearly unwell. For the safety and security of all Americans, we must invoke the 25th Amendment.
ICE detained five-year-old Liam Ramos on his way home from school, then used him as “bait” to detain his family members—who, per their attorney, are going through the legal asylum process. He and his father were sent to Texas.
This isn’t about criminals. It’s about cruelty.
Republicans gave DHS $170 BILLION in their Big Ugly Bill—including $75 billion for ICE. Since then, all they've done with that money is inflict terror on communities, violate the law, and kill a U.S. citizen.
I was a HELL NO then, and I'm a HELL NO now. Not another dime for DHS.
Trump is deporting survivors back to their abusers.
That's why @jayapal.house.gov, @repgwenmoore.bsky.social, @demwomencaucus.bsky.social, and I are demanding that DHS immediately reinstate protections for immigrant survivors and release those currently held in detention.
This man is actually deranged. He’s risking the safety of every American.
Invoke the 25th.
It's been one year since Trump took office. What has he done for you?
Raise costs. Cut health care. Terrorize communities with ICE. The list goes on.
I'll keep fighting against Trump's out-of-control agenda.
Donald Trump is unfit to lead and clearly out of control. Invoke the 25th Amendment.
Happy MLK Day!
As we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I joined events across the community celebrating his life, legacy, and service.
In these times, may we remember his message: the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.
Last Sunday, I joined Second Baptist Church in honoring the legacy of Senior Pastor Emeritus William Epps and welcoming Reverend James D. Key.
It was a powerful reminder that faith and community can light the way during these challenging times in our nation.
Joy dedicated her life to mentoring hundreds of Black women, including me, to become the next generation of changemakers in our city.
Her integrity, compassion, and leadership will continue to remind us what it truly means to fight for equity and justice.
May she rest in power.
Yes, Trump's invasion of Venezuela obviously ain't legal. The power to go to war lies with Congress.
But Trump's imperial ambitions are also a nightmare that endangers every American. I broke down why.
