Democrats led the House in restoring the ACA tax credits last night, but now the Senate needs to act. Leader Thune must not delay a second longer in providing this relief for millions of Americans.
15 years ago, my friend and colleague @gabbygiffords.bsky.social was shot and six others were killed in a tragic shooting. I remember that day all too well, and I stand with her in the fight to end gun violence and political violence in all its forms.
I voted against the war in Iraq, and I’m against Trump sending our sons and daughters to fight another endless war for oil. He needs to get his mind off Venezuela and Greenland and start addressing his failures here at home.
An ICE agent shot and killed a U.S. citizen in Minneapolis today. My heart breaks for the victim’s family. This kind of avoidable tragedy is what happens when Donald Trump sends armed, masked, and often untrained agents into our communities. His lawless army must be reined in.
I’m proud to announce that #CA18 recently secured over $8.6 million for road safety improvements in our communities! I voted for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and thanks to that bill signed by President Biden, we’re making our roads safer for all Californians.
Trump has already ruined so many alliances. Congress must rein him in and prevent him from pitting us against NATO. We must stop this threat to recklessly engage in war with our allies.
Invading Greenland (part of Denmark) could trigger Article 5 of the NATO Treaty and might lead our NATO allies to defend it militarily against the United States. War with Europe? So crazy and unnecessary.
Such an unserious and reckless President! Americans don’t want the U.S. to be running Venezuela or Greenland, they want this government to be fixing problems here at home. Trump and Republicans can’t even fix the healthcare crisis they created, what makes them think they can run an empire?

Rep. Lofgren: Donald Trump's efforts on that day was to send a mob to disrupt the election, to potentially kill us, to seize power. And he is still misusing power now that he's back in the White House in many respects. The threat to our democracy is substantial.
Officers like @libradunn1.bsky.social saved my life and my colleagues’ lives on January 6th. I’m forever grateful to the law enforcement officials who courageously defended our Capitol and our democracy from the armed insurrectionists.
Rep. LaMalfa loved the California communities he represented. Doug was a 4th generation farmer, and we worked closely to craft legislation to support our farm workforce. While we often disagreed, I considered him a friend. My condolences to Doug's loved ones during this time.
January 6th is one of the darkest days in our country’s history. Let us never forget what led to that awful day 5 years ago, and let us never forget that democracy is fragile. It’s our duty as Americans to defend it from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Trump says he’s “pro-police” and “tough on crime”, yet he unleashed 1,500+ criminals onto our streets, many of whom assaulted law enforcement on J6. Since Trump’s pardons, they’ve committed: - Kidnapping - Sexual assault - Burglary - Death threats against elected officials
Trump illegally attacked Venezuela without constitutionally required approval. Trump says it's to take their oil and that his cabinet members will run the country. Will any Republican members of the Senate or House finally stand up for the Constitution? Have they no shame?
I sat through Jack Smith’s testimony, and I’d urge everyone to watch these clips. Republicans tried to rewrite history and shield Trump from the consequences of his crimes, but Special Counsel Smith had the law on his side. No wonder they tried burying this on New Year’s Eve. x.com/housejudicia...
House Republicans have officially let ACA tax credits expire. Instead of lowering healthcare costs, they’ve chosen to send Americans’ healthcare premiums soaring. My Democratic colleagues and I will fight to restore these credits and stop the Republican healthcare crisis.
2025 was a tough year for a lot of people. This New Year, I hope we seize the opportunity to make life better for all Americans and fight for the future we deserve.
