Every day, families lose loved ones waiting for an organ transplant while financial barriers prevent generous living donors from stepping forward. Folks should not have to choose between their livelihood and the opportunity to save a life.
I led my Democratic colleagues in demanding that Secretary Kennedy take immediate action to stop the spread of measles. His lack of response to our previous calls shows a complete disregard for public health and the lives of Americans.
What's next for efforts to reauthorize the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act? John Mecklin @meckdevil.bsky.social interviewed New Mexico Sen. Ben Ray Luján @lujan.senate.gov about RECA, which aims to support those impacted by US nuclear weapons tests, uranium mining, and nuclear waste leaks.
After Elon Musk illegally fired thousands of Department of Agriculture employees during a bird flu crisis – driving up egg prices and hurting farmers – they were ordered to be rehired temporarily. This should have never happened. This chaos hurts Americans at the grocery store.
Unelected billionaire Elon Musk doesn't need Social Security, so he wants to gut it. He doesn’t understand why millions of Americans need and have earned it. There is no room for Elon Musk’s DOGE to make mistakes with Americans' hard-earned retirement.
Last night, President Trump called for an end to the CHIPS Act, which is helping the U.S. invest in manufacturing, technology, & good-paying jobs. This would be detrimental to our National Labs and bipartisan efforts to boost national security & innovation. I will fight to protect this legislation.
I strongly oppose the Trump administration plan to fire 80,000 employees – many of whom are veterans – from the VA. These employees worked tirelessly to adjudicate millions of PACT claims for veterans impacted by toxic chemicals. This blatant disrespect of our veterans is shameful.
Don’t go by what they’re saying, go by what they’re doing. And what they’re doing is preparing to gut Social Security. Democrats in Congress are fighting back to save your hard-earned retirement benefits.
President Trump and Elon Musk are gutting federal programs, indiscriminately firing hardworking federal workers, and weakening our country. Next, President Trump and Elon Musk are preparing to pay for the Republican Tax Scam 2.0 by gutting Medicaid and other essential programs.
President Trump’s address tonight was more of the same: chaos, corruption, and increased costs. The President doubled down on increasing costs for American families while promoting Elon Musk’s efforts to take a wrecking ball to the federal government that serves New Mexicans and the American people.
