Prices are going up and President Trump is doing nothing to lower costs for hardworking Americans. His reckless Trade War will make things even more expensive for New Mexicans on groceries, electronics, and so much more that we depend on. Our families and businesses will pay the price.
Senate Republicans just confirmed a Secretary of Education tasked with dismantling the Department of Education piece by piece. At a time when students, teachers, and parents need support more than ever, Senate Republicans just voted to abandon them.
Shameful, embarrassing, and dangerous. Trump and Vance are doing Putin’s bidding right before our eyes.
Trump to Zelenskyy: "Don't tell us what we're gonna feel. You're in no position to dictate that. You're in no position to dictate what we're gonna feel. We're gonna feel very good and very strong. You're right now not in a very good position. You're gambling with World War 3."
Why isn’t the CDC website being updated regularly? There are now 200+ measles cases. This is unacceptable given the public health risk of this highly contagious and dangerous disease. Americans deserve the truth about the measles outbreak.
The Hatch Act prevents public officials from using their positions for political gain. With the Musk-Trump chaos, we must ensure accountability and uphold the rule of law. That’s why I’ve reintroduced my legislation with Congressman Robert Garcia to strengthen Hatch Act enforcement.
House Republicans just set the stage to slash Medicaid for millions of Americans to pay for the Trump Tax Scam.   They promised they wouldn’t touch it and now they’re backtracking to take away health care from moms, babies, and seniors. Don’t be silent on this — make yourself heard.
I joined my colleagues in sending a letter to USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins demanding answers on recent USDA firings. These layoffs threaten USDA’s ability to address avian flu, process farm loans, and disaster relief, and distribute grants for rural infrastructure & services. This is unacceptable.
New Mexico Chile President is in the U.S. Senate! Introducing Mr. Ben Etcheverry, a community leader, agricultural expert, and advocate from Deming, NM, in the Senate Ag Committee was a privilege. I will always bring more New Mexican voices to the table to help make better policy for our state.
Despite what this administration is telling you, vaccines work. Lower vaccination rates have caused a measles outbreak in New Mexico. I led a letter from the NM Delegation to Secretary Kennedy urging him to rehire fired CDC employees and launch a campaign to improve measles vaccination rates.
It was an honor to speak to a room full of public utility commissioners from around the country this morning. I was once a public regulator myself, so I know the importance of working across party lines to make things better and more affordable for all communities.
