Great conversation this week with Monte Sereno’s Youth Commission about public service, local leadership, and how young people can drive change.
These bright students are already strengthening their community through civic engagement, and I cannot wait to see what they accomplish next.

Half Moon Bay lost a community hero. From his service in World War II to decades of local civic leadership, Al Adreveno helped shape the Coastside so many families proudly call home today. My thoughts remain with Al’s loved ones and friends. www.coastsidenews.com/obituaries/a...
America cannot win the 21st Century by educating the best and brightest from around the world –and then sending them back to China, India, and elsewhere to compete against us.
Thank you to Vivek Wadhwa for your insights.

DACA recipients who are working and providing important services in our community are struggling right now to get their DACA status renewed. This is affecting all of us and we need to get it fixed.

The Trump Administration’s proposal to cap the duration of status for F-1 and J-1 visas will lead students to return home to propel foreign companies — in countries like China — to compete against us.
Wishing a joyful Eid al-Adha to everyone celebrating across our community and around the world. Eid Mubarak!
We’re looking forward to big things in your next chapter!
Big thanks to our impressive college interns–Ananya, Cesar, Clarie, Isabel, Spencer, Alejandro, Ved, and Will– in both our DC and district offices. You supported constituents, strengthened our legislative and community work, and brought energy and a strong commitment to public service every day.
The creative submissions of our local high school students to the 2026 Congressional Art Competition offered thoughtful and inspiring answers to the question: “What does the United States of America’s 250th anniversary mean to you?”
Thanks to The New York Times for the compelling data visualization and for bringing more national attention to America’s housing shortage.

This week, the House passed our bipartisan package of housing legislation, which included four of my bills to reduce barriers to affordable and market-rate housing, and I hope my colleagues in the Senate seize this rare opportunity for bipartisan action.
The rent is too damned high– especially in the Bay Area.
Wildfire season keeps starting earlier in California. With fires already burning in Southern California, now’s the time to prepare.

So about yesterday...
I led my Bay Area congressional colleagues in demanding answers because a process that once took days now takes months.
More than 16,000 DACA recipients live in the Bay Area. Constituents have contacted my office after losing jobs and health insurance because USCIS failed to provide proof of their DACA renewals.
We're fighting to stop Trump's slush fund.
The bill now moves to the Senate.
Rarely does Congress actually get something done on a bipartisan basis these days. Proud to work with my committee colleagues, both Republican and Democratic, to pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act—a package that included four of my bills—to accelerate housing construction and reduce costs.
