2025 RECAP: Trump and his multi-billionaire Secretary of Education have worked overtime this year to hollow out the Department of Education and hurt students, teachers, and families.
The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act supports millions of workers & their right to basic workplace accommodations while pregnant. I helped pass this law 3 years ago & will keep fighting to prevent the Trump admin from undermining the protections pregnant workers need and deserve.
2025 RECAP: Trump has single-handedly raised taxes on working and middle-class families more than any president in my lifetime with his reckless tariffs—raising costs on everything from groceries and electricity bills.
2025 RECAP: From installing an anti-vax conspiracy theorist as our nation's top health care official to taking an axe to lifesaving biomedical research, the Trump administration has systematically put politics over science.
Trump's HHS has banned nearly 200 words for Head Start programs—like “‘disability,’ ‘women,’ ‘Tribal,’” and more—forcing programs to choose between complying with the law or bending to Trump's unlawful DEI ban to keep funding.  This is outrageous. I'm demanding answers.
Well, we made it through the first year of Trump’s second term—and I’m taking stock of what happened & why we’ve got to keep fighting back.  2025 RECAP: Let's start with Trump unleashing chaos on the American people by letting Elon Musk and DOGE break the federal government.
Republicans outright REFUSED to stop your health care premiums from skyrocketing in January—and now, millions of Americans are being kicked off their health care coverage altogether.
Anti-abortion extremists will stop at nothing to ban abortion and block women from getting abortion pills. Their latest tactic? Hijacking environmental laws & claiming mifepristone is **poisoning the water.** It’s as crazy as it is dangerous.
NEWS: The Trump admin has quietly implemented a near-total BAN on abortion care at VA, even in cases of rape or incest. This is yet another attack on reproductive freedom and a profound betrayal of veterans who put their lives on the line for our country. Shameful.
The Trump admin is gearing up to use AI to delay and deny Medicare benefits for seniors. This is outrageous and should be a national scandal. We’re talking about a backdoor effort to privatize Traditional Medicare and cut benefits. I introduced legislation to stop it.
I've heard about ICE improperly stopping or detaining Tribal citizens for no apparent reason aside from their physical appearance. This has got to stop.  The disrespect and harassment of U.S.-born Tribal citizens by ICE is outrageous and inexcusable.
Trump’s rollout of the EHR system in WA state created life-threatening problems & obstacles for veterans’ to get the health care they need. Rushing the deployment of this system while serious issues remain is a recipe for disaster. I'm demanding answers.
