Trump doesn't want you to know this, but he's currently trying to ram through a Big, Ugly Betrayal of a bill that will kick 16 million Americans off their health care. All just to cut taxes for billionaires and giant corporations who don't need it. Every Senator should vote NO.
Sending Marines to face off against citizens on U.S. soil is fundamentally un-American, a MASSIVE waste of taxpayer dollars, and an insult to our servicemembers.   A dangerous and needless escalation by a wannabe dictator.   Everyone must speak out against this abuse of power.
An outspoken vaccine conspiracy theorist just fired every last member of CDC's vaccine advisory committee. RFK Jr. is paving the way to reshape vaccine policy based not on decades of science, but on his own unhinged fanaticism. This is unprecedented, and unthinkably dangerous.
Violence is never acceptable—of course, I condemn it.   But I've also got news for everyone: the President who pardoned criminals who beat police officers nearly to death DOESN'T care about public safety.   Trump just wants more chaos as pretext to further abuse his authority.
Los Angeles: don’t take Trump’s bait. Trump wants chaos and he’s instigated violence. Those who assault law enforcement or cause property damage will risk arrest. Stay peaceful. Stay focused. Don’t give him the excuse he’s looking for.
Here's what Trump's tax bill is all about: the LARGEST cut to Medicaid in history, just to cut taxes for billionaires who really don't need it.   Hospitals closing. Higher premiums for everyone.   We've got to make sure everyone knows about this bill NOW if we want to stop it.
Thank you @zerotothree.bsky.social for delivering a "message in a baby bottle" to stand up for our littlest kids. This former preschool teacher is throwing Trump's budget in the trash. I'm fighting for a budget that protects Head Start & builds on our investments to make child care more affordable.
House Republicans passed the single largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in the HISTORY of our country.   The GOP tax bill would deliver the largest cut to Medicaid and SNAP EVER.   Repost and help me put a burning, bright spotlight on this awful disaster of a bill.
There is NO reason 16 MILLION Americans should lose their health care to give tax cuts to billionaires and giant corporations who don't need them. None. Every Senator should vote to kill this Big, Ugly Betrayal of a bill.
Good to meet with @mealsonwheelsus.bsky.social CEO Ellie Hollander. I've always fought to boost funding for Meals On Wheels, and I always will. I'll be ripping up Trump's budget and doing everything I can to protect Meals On Wheels. Seniors shouldn't go hungry in America. No one should.
In the Pacific Northwest, salmon aren't just fish—they're a way of life, and foundational to our economy & culture. Trump's budget wants to completely ELIMINATE the Pacific Coastal Salmon Recovery Fund. I'm tearing up Trump's budget, and won't vote for ANY bill that eliminates this funding.
Got asked on an AMA tonight: “can you talk about why SNAP is so important?” So I shared my personal experience. 7 kids in our family and food stamps kept us fed when my dad got sick, lost his job, and mom had to look for work. SNAP is an investment in people. I won't support ANY cuts to SNAP.
Sit down and shut up? No thanks. A Seattle Times columnist recently wrote a piece about me, implying that it's futile to call out the corrupt power grab that’s happening in DC. But that's exactly what Trump wants: to create a sense of apathy that silences critics. Not a chance. Read my response.
I passed the bipartisan Digital Equity Act into law. Trump doesn't like the word equity, so now he's blocking BILLIONS in funding to help kids in rural school districts get laptops. I told Commerce Secretary Lutnick to save taxpayers the legal fees, follow the LAW, and get this money out the door.
Billionaires and the largest corporations? They’re doing FINE. They don’t need a handout at the expense of struggling families.   But Republicans want to kick kids off their health care to shower the richest companies on earth with more tax cuts.   No way. We need to put this heist on full blast.
Trump is required by LAW to get $220 million for childhood literacy programs out the door to benefit students. Secretary McMahon couldn't even provide a basic timeline to do so.   Trump's illegally impounding YOUR taxpayer dollars—meant to help kids learn to read—to cut taxes for billionaires.
President Trump is now asking Republicans in Congress to rubberstamp Elon's DOGE cuts and codify them into law. Every Senator should vote NO and reject Trump’s request to cut off local news broadcasts and weaken our national security. My full statement ⬇️
Trump just quietly erased guidance that told hospitals they had to save pregnant women's lives. That's right—they don't care how many women die or are forced into health crises to advance their anti-abortion agenda. I won’t let this fly under the radar.
Elon’s right about this: the bill IS an abomination, and it WILL explode our national debt. The best place to send the Republican tax bill is straight into the trash. 🗑️
I asked Secretary McMahon if she had done ANY analysis about how the Department of Education would be able to perform its basic obligations under the law before firing HALF of its staff. NO analysis was done. None. These people want to take a CHAINSAW to public education with a BLINDFOLD on.
