You know what would help? A Secretary of Education who actually cares about making sure all students get a quality public education rather than someone dismantling our education system from the inside out.
You paying more at the pump is a direct result of Trump's reckless war of choice with Iran. Trump needs to end this war and actually try to live up to his promise of lower prices at home. NO war with Iran.
In Pierce County with Executive Mello to discuss funding I secured to expand Tacoma-Pierce Co. Public Health's mobile medical services. Trump tried to cut federal funding to help our states fight the addiction crisis by $1B. I stopped him. This is not the time to cut back on life-saving resources.
REMINDER: The Senate unanimously passed funding for TSA four days ago. House Republicans refused to even vote on it. Speaker Johnson, this is on you—stop holding TSA funding HOSTAGE.
Republicans don't seem too concerned about our national deficit now that the U.S. is spending billions on Trump's war of choice with Iran.    Why is it that when it comes to health care, we can't afford it—but when it comes to a war with no clear objective, we suddenly have the cash?
🚈 Washington state's newest addition to public transit: a train running over a floating bridge! 🚈   I have fought for @sound-transit.bsky.social since its earliest days and seeing the Crosslake Connection finally open was AWESOME!   THIS is why I'll keep fighting to invest in public transit! 🚉
Senator Murray is standing with a crowd of people behind a large blue ribbon that says "Connect" in large letters. She's holding a large pair of scissors.
Senator Murray is standing on a stage at a podium, smiling and looking out of frame at the crowd.
Senator Murray is on the right side of the frame, standing on stage at a podium. There is a large crowd on the left of the frame, seated, looking at the Senator. Everyone is under a large white tent.
The Senate passed a bill to fund all of DHS except ICE and Border Patrol. And we did it with the unanimous consent of ALL 100 SENATORS. Speaker Johnson refused to vote on this bill and chose to continue holding TSA hostage and to continue Trump's chaos.
After years of wondering and people asking, "When is light rail going to come to Bellevue?" We have our answer: about every 8 minutes! 🎉🚈 You can now ride the world's first train on a floating bridge, and that is pretty darn cool.
No new money for ICE and Border Patrol without reform. This isn't complicated & Democrats could not have been clearer. The Senate unanimously approved funding for TSA, our Coast Guard, and disaster relief—the House needs to pass this bill TODAY. It's time to end Trump's chaos.
NEW BILL 🚨 I introduced new legislation to invest in preventing youth homelessness and it’s got serious bipartisan support. Let’s commit to ensuring that every kid in America has a safe place to call home.
BREAKING: Republicans have relented to Democratic demands to fund the rest of DHS besides ICE & Border Patrol. No more holding TSA hostage. No blank check for ICE & Border Patrol. We need real reforms & accountability. I'll keep fighting for exactly that.
Instead of actually helping students, Trump & his billionaire Secretary of Education are lighting millions of taxpayer dollars on fire with these stunts. How about instead of abolishing the Department of Education, we just make sure kids can read at grade level?
Trump is spending billions of YOUR taxpayer dollars on a war of choice with Iran — and it's driving up the costs of everything from gas to groceries. Trump's response to families struggling to afford the high prices? "It didn't matter to me." Despicable.
Trump on Iran: I thought that the oil prices would go up higher. I thought the stock market would go somewhat lower. But it didn't matter to me.
If you make under $184k, you pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate. Everything after that cap is exempt from the tax. So if you make $1 million per year, you pay about 2.2%. And it's 0.002% for billionaires. If we lifted the cap, Social Security could be funded for decades.
Today is March 26th, Equal Pay Day. It marks just how far into this year women must work just to make what men made the previous year. Pennies per day add up to life-changing amounts.  It's time we pass my Paycheck Fairness Act and help end the wage gap.
