I am devastated by the loss of Jaden Pierre. As his family gathers for his funeral today, my thoughts are with his loved ones. No parent should have to bury a child due to gun violence. Accountability and real steps must happen to combat gun violence and protect our communities.
House Republicans finally passed the bipartisan Senate bill they’d been sitting on for over a month to end their 76-day DHS shutdown. FEMA, TSA and the Coast Guard are funded again and public servants are finally getting paid. About time. Democrats know Americans deserve more.
I was proud to welcome the Howard Men’s Basketball Team to my office and celebrate their spectacular season. From winning their first-ever NCAA Tournament win to Bryce Howard being named MEAC player of the year, I can’t wait to see what the program does next. HU...You Know!
The same Republican extremists who have been trying to undermine the fundamental right to vote are the same ones who could weaponize this decision in their desperation to stay in power. They know the American people aren't happy with them.
It was an honor to break ground for Arverne East's new housing development in Edgemere. Building D will provide 320 affordable units and 90 homeownership opportunities, ensuring that more families, seniors, and first-time homebuyers have a place to call home right here in #NY05.
I'm grateful that everyone is safe after last night’s terrifying shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. I commend Secret Service, law enforcement and first responders for their swift response. There's no place for political violence in our country.
It was a pleasure to join the Recording Academy's Black Music Collective in honoring the enduring influence of Black music. My colleagues and I were overjoyed to celebrate the creators and artists like Durand Bernarr whose contributions in music and beyond shape American culture.
I was thrilled to meet with fellow New Yorkers and constituents from #NY05, who are advocating for Ukraine. It is long past time for Congress to step up, provide support for Ukraine, and mandate more sanctions on Russia to cut off funding for its brutal war against the Ukrainian people.
It was an amazing honor to receive the @usafmc 2026 Statesmanship Award with my colleagues @RepHuizenga, @SenatorWarnock and Sen. @JohnBoozman. Thank you to the FMC’s Board for this recognition and for your continuous commitment towards bipartisan collaboration and public service.
Terminal 8's transformation is a proud moment for Queens. Travelers will see our borough's charm once they arrive at JFK airport. Local dining and retail vendors not only enrich the travel experience for passengers but allows small businesses to excel on the global stage. abc7ny.com/post/jfk-air...
Republicans are working overtime to block critical bills. Democrats are using discharge petitions to force votes on issues YOU care about. ✅Passed bill to lower health care costs ✅Passed bill to extend TPS for Haiti ✅Passed bill to release the Epstein Files
I recently met with the Consulate General of India, New York, Ambassador Binaya Pradhan and other officials. We discussed the Iran war, its regional impact, and strengthening the U.S.–India relationship. We also emphasized the importance of continuing dialogue on this issue.
Trump's attempt to terminate TPS would be life-threatening for the 350,000+ Haitian nationals in our country and the communities they support. That's why House Democrats fought back and won the vote to extend TPS with bipartisan support. Now it's time for the Senate to act. youtu.be/gJ1xl1LpZWs
Remember when Trump promised that he would increase your tax refund by over $1,000? Another lie. It's #TaxDay and instead of being able to pocket your tax refunds, you'll need them to pay for more expensive gas, food, and rent.
