The cost of living is already too high. Republicans have made things worse by stripping health care from families. Millions in California & across the country will lose coverage and see health care costs skyrocket if Republicans let Affordable Care Act tax credits expire.
I am glad to see ABC will bring Jimmy Kimmel Live back on air. This is a win for free speech & proof that when we hold their feet to the fire we can have a real impact. The Trump Administration’s ongoing threats to our First Amendment rights undermine our democracy and must never be tolerated.
Breaking News: ABC said that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” would return on Tuesday, ending an impasse that began last week. nyti.ms/3KAl4Np
Jimmy Kimmel sits behind a desk. He’s wearing a tie and a jacket. A headline reads: “Jimmy Kimmel's Show To Return to ABC on Tuesday Night.” Photo credit: Randy Holmes/Disney.
This week, FCC chair Brendan Carr pressured ABC to remove Jimmy Kimmel from the air. Now, Trump is threatening to revoke the licenses of broadcasters that criticize him. I'm demanding Carr testify before the Energy & Commerce Committee to answer questions about his corrupt, un-American actions.
Today, I joined @padilla.senate.gov, @schiff.senate.gov, and my House colleagues to re-introduce my Redistricting Reform Act. It’s time to put an end to Trump’s gerrymandering war and establish independent redistricting nationwide.
Last month's jobs report was the worst we've seen since the pandemic. Layoffs are at a 5-year high, and people can't afford health care and groceries. Trump & Republicans have broken their promise to the American people to lower costs.
The FCC’s decision is straight out of an authoritarian playbook: a blatant attack on free speech designed to punish opposing views. The First Amendment is a constitutional right that protects all voices, not just the ones the Trump Administration agrees with. www.cnn.com/2025/09/17/m...
Every woman deserves to be paid fairly at work. Proud to stand with @demwomencaucus.bsky.social & @repgregstanton.bsky.social urging the WNBA to negotiate a fair contract. The league has grown because of its incredible athletes. They deserve a deal that reflects their value.
NEW: We sent a letter with @repgregstanton.bsky.social and other House Dems urging the WNBA to negotiate fairly with players and take their requests seriously. democraticwomenscaucus.house.gov/media/press-releases/democratic-womens-caucus-demands-wnba-bargain-good-faith-players-union-demands
On top of rising grocery & health care costs, Americans are struggling with utility bills. Meanwhile, Trump & Republicans are rolling back efficiency standards and forcing outdated coal plants to stay open. Families are footing the bill of these reckless policies. @energycommerce.bsky.social
Today marks the 24th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. We remember the thousands of innocent lives lost, and we honor the first responders and families whose lives were forever changed.
The attack on Charlie Kirk is horrific. Political violence has no place in our democracy and cannot be tolerated. I am keeping all those impacted by this reprehensible act of violence in my thoughts.
Republicans' big ugly bill is reversing decades of progress in expanding health care coverage across the U.S. In California's 15th congressional district alone, 22,000 of our neighbors will lose coverage as a result of these inhumane health care cuts. www.americanprogress.org/article/the-...
Veterans have sacrificed everything to serve our country, but the Trump Administration is stripping away reproductive care from millions of veterans and their families. I’m proud to join my @demwomencaucus.bsky.social colleagues in demanding an end to this attack on veterans' essential health care.
Why do Trump and Republicans continue to lie about the Epstein files? Last week, I signed a discharge petition calling for the immediate release of these documents. We need transparency and accountability. The American people deserve to know the truth.
🚨🚨HERE IT IS: We got Trump’s birthday note to Jeffrey Epstein that the President said doesn’t exist. Trump talks about a “wonderful secret” the two of them shared. What is he hiding? Release the files!
It's National Suicide Prevention Week, and today is 988 Day. If you or a loved one need help, call or text 988. Help is only 3 numbers away. There is no reason too big or too small to reach out and ask for support.
