Recently, I've been hearing from a lot of people that because the word 'Medicaid' doesn't appear in the majority party's budget resolution, it won't be impacted.
So, let me set the record straight: under their budget, Medicaid will be cut.
Here's how:
Thank you to members from National Air Traffic Controllers Association (including a Delawarean!) for stopping by my office today.
Your work is vital to Americans’ safety when traveling, and I’ll continue to advocate for you here in Washington.
Everyone deserves equal pay for equal work. Period.
That's why, on #EqualPayDay, I join my colleagues in calling on Congress to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act, so we can close the wage gap and ensure fair pay for women in every industry.
The Trump admin has halted millions of dollars worth of vital food aid deliveries to food banks across the country, including to the Food Bank of Delaware.
At a time when grocery prices remain high & demand for assistance is great, Delaware families are now in jeopardy of receiving fewer meals.
These homes are the culmination of Habitat's hard work, federal funding, and our state and local partners, and they speak to our shared commitment to making housing more affordable in New Castle County and throughout Delaware. (2/2)
Grateful to start my morning with Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County, where we celebrated four new homeowners on Wilmington's East Side. (1/2)
Substance use disorders affect too many neighbors across our state. That’s why spaces like Limen Recovery and Wellness in Wilmington are essential – to provide services, support, & hope to those on the path to recovery.
I was proud to help cut the ribbon on their new recovery center in Wilmington.
I’m excited to work with CRISP to further cement Delaware as a leader in innovation both regionally and nationally. (3/3)
The campus combines research and development with the business community and the manufacturing sector, and it will expand to include state-of-the-art life sciences laboratories and commercial spaces. (2/3)
Innovation is a main driver of Delaware’s economy, so I was excited to tour Chestnut Run Innovation and Science Park (CRISP) recently with the Delaware BioScience Association. (1/3)
There’s no denying that the Trump administration wants to repeal the ACA and rip coverage away from Americans. But, as we’ve done in the past every time the ACA was on the chopping block, we will fight any attempts to repeal our care.
The ACA is here to stay. (2/2)
15 years ago today, the Affordable Care Act became the law of the land. In the last year alone, it provided more than 45 million Americans with coverage through the Marketplace or Medicaid expansion, including 45,000 Delawareans. (1/2)
As this administration continues its assault on Medicaid, which is used to help fund centers like SUN Behavioral, I’ll continue to raise my voice to protect these critical services. (2/2)
Proud to help cut the ribbon on SUN Behavioral Delaware’s new outpatient building in Georgetown that will offer a full continuum of specialized care. Spaces like these are lifelines for Delawareans experiencing substance use issues and the unhoused. (1/2)
INCOMING: My first weekly newsletter, the McBride Memo, hit inboxes this morning!
Each week, I'll share 5 quick things I'm working on to deliver for Delawareans — the perfect read to go with your morning cup of coffee.

This afternoon, President Trump is set to sign an executive order to dismantle and shutter the Department of Education.
This is straight out of his Project 2025 playbook to steal from American families to give tax breaks to billionaires.
As a state senator, I helped pass the expansion of Medicaid to cover doula services — a critical resource that often bridges the trust gap for women of color giving birth. In Congress, I'll work with anyone who will work with me to address the maternal and infant mortality crisis in our state. (3/3)
Through their GROWTH: Family Resource Center, they are a resource for communities across our state. Their work is vital to helping us drive down health disparities in our communities. (2/3)
We are facing a maternal and infant mortality crisis in America, and it’s unacceptable.
That’s why I’m grateful for organizations like the Do Care Doula Foundation, which I visited in Dover today, for providing support and services to expectant Black and Brown mothers. (1/3)
With hundreds of applicants this year alone and a 100% placement rate, this is an exemplary model for building the next generation of aviators. My thanks to DSU for hosting me in Dover today. (2/2)
