The House must take up the Senate-passed bill to correct the treatment of DC as a federal agency in the CR. DC is not a federal agency. DC's local funds should not be regulated by officials DC residents didn't elect.
The unconscionable Republican CR cut $1 billion in funding for D.C. – funds that have literally already been paid for by D.C. residents. So we introduced a bill tonight to ensure that D.C. receives the tax dollars it is owed. The Senate just passed it.
Federal employees deserve praise for their expertise, dedication and service – not denigration.   Join me tomorrow from 5-6:30 pm for a telephone Town Hall geared towards federal employees but open to all.   Dial in: 833-408-1990 Live stream: norton.house.gov/live
On Tuesday, 3/18 from 5-6:30 pm I'll hold a virtual Town Hall geared towards federal workers but open to all DC residents and the media. More information: bit.ly/3DHWnf0
Thank you to my former intern & current US Senator, Angela Alsobrooks, for fighting for DC in the Senate.

After House Republicans, who were not elected by DC residents, released a CR that would force DC to make a projected $1B in cuts to local spending, including to DC police and schools, I filed an amendment to correct this potentially catastrophic issue.   bit.ly/3Fjtarm
DC’s own Raya Kenney was featured in the film “Women of World War II: The Untold Stories.”   Raya inspired my bill to authorize a memorial honoring women who worked on the home front in WWII, signed into law in 2023.   You can watch the film here: to.pbs.org/41G73DZ
