Rümeysa Öztürk should never have been abducted and unlawfully detained.
She is a cherished member of our community and I'm so relieved she is headed home to the #MA7.
This is a victory for Rümeysa, for due process, and for our democracy.
Everyone should be able to walk into our museums & see our accurate history on display.
We're in Boston this morning discussing why we won't let Trump erase our history with these unconscionable attacks on cultural institutions. www.youtube.com/live/jM2eaGr...
Trump’s attacks on our museums & cultural institutions undermines their integrity & educational mission.
I’m joining advocates at Boston's African American History Museum to uplift the vital role museums play in preserving our shared history.

Republicans' reconciliation bill guts the programs that hold communities together:
Medicaid, SNAP, Head Start, and the VA – programs that give people a fighting chance.
The cruelty is the point. And we'll do everything we can to stop this cruel budget from becoming law.
We applaud the Second Circuit for rejecting Trump’s attempt to delay complying with my constituent Rümeysa Öztürk's transfer to Vermont.
She must be released & have her visa restored.
And we’ll continue to ring the alarm loudly until that is the case.
I join Catholic families in the #MA7 and across the globe in congratulating Pope Leo XIV, the first pontiff from the United States.
In the midst of consequential times for America and the world, I pray that he leads with justice, compassion, and inclusivity.
While Occupant Trump dismantles our agencies, attacks federal workers & veterans, and guts essential programs like Medicaid & SNAP—my GOP colleagues just voted on the Gulf of America Act.
Republicans aren’t serious about governing or doing the people’s work.
Baby goods like car seats aren’t optional, they’re essential.
I pressed Secretary Scott Bessent on Trump tariffs making it harder for families to take care of their babies.
Mr. Secretary, I'm glad you committed to taking a look at this. Make it quick, get it done. Families can’t wait.
This is a damning confirmation of what we've been saying:
Republicans want to rip away healthcare from millions to fund more tax cuts for billionaires.
Hands. Off. Medicaid.
Moms who work full-time all year are paid just 74 cents for every $1 paid to dads.
And that wage gap only widens for working moms of color.
We need bold policies like #PaidLeave, the Paycheck Fairness Act, and the ERA to close the wage gap once & for all.

Today I hosted a Disability Reproductive Equity Summit at @americanprogress.bsky.social. It was headlined by @pressley.house.gov. Sometimes organizing work brings joy.

“[Rümeysa Öztürk’s] only so-called crime is co-authoring an op-ed centering the humanity of all people.”
@mehdirhasan.bsky.social speaks with @pressley.house.gov on the detainment of Rümeysa Öztürk, a Tufts University student arrested for writing an op-ed on Palestine.
1 year after Steward & its greedy executives plunged MA into a public health crisis:
—Ralph de la Torre has not been held accountable
—Hospitals remain closed &
—Former employees are struggling
Preventing this type of harm requires bad actors to pay the price, not patients, staff or communities.
This shameful ruling will only harm military readiness and block brave Americans from serving our country.
And Trump's action was never about making America safer—it was always about attacking our trans community and advancing his hateful agenda.
This @bosindicators.bsky.social report affirms what we’ve known: wealth disparities follow people throughout their lifetime, even as they reach retirement.
We need precise, intentional policies that advance economic justice, close the elder wealth gap, and allow folks to age with dignity.
Unconscionable.
Donald Trump and the Secretary of WWE should NOT be seizing people's hard-earned wages, tax refunds, and Social Security checks.
Republicans' want to cut paychecks, eliminate earned benefits, & rip away healthcare from federal workers like VA nurses, mail carriers, food inspectors, & more.
They want to ruin the lives of the people who make their lives better—just to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires.
Trump's unlawful detention of our students is not an anomaly.
They are part of his intentional and coordinated attack on our democracy and constitutional rights.
It's time to free Rümeysa, Mahmoud, & every political prisoner whose story hasn't made headlines.

Rümeysa Öztürk is an accomplished scholar, valued community member, & my constituent who is now Trump's political prisoner.
I spoke with @slate.com to discuss my meeting with her, Republicans' attacks on Medicaid, and how we're fighting back against their callous agenda.

In the last district work week, I joined Metro Housing Boston to celebrate the property owners & managers helping to provide quality affordable housing in Greater Boston.
As Vice Chair of the Renters Caucus, I’ll keep fighting to affirm housing as the human right that it is.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
