Construction in Colorado is just one of the many industries that will be impacted by Trump’s mass, indiscriminate deportations.  Not only will these deportations leave jobs unfilled, it will affect American-born construction workers as the entire industry shrinks without the workforce to support it
A lot of people ask me what it's like to be in the minority party here in Congress. While we’re not in power, we are not powerless..  It was great to speak with Chuck Todd about what it means to govern from the minority and what we can do in this moment when so many feel hopeless.
Great news! We just submitted our proposals for millions of dollars in federal funding to support 15 projects across our communities.  From funding for affordable child care to our local infrastructure, these projects will improve our lives every day in #CO07.
We know water is our lifeline in the West. But Trump is going after the @usbr WaterSMART program, which has funded projects to conserve our water and help us protect against drought. If Republicans don’t join us in pushing back, Donald Trump is going to leave us high and dry.
Remember when Trump promised "90 deals in 90 days?" Also his promise to lower costs on Day One? I joined my Democratic colleagues in supporting a lawsuit that would stop Trump from abusing tariffs – because our families shouldn’t be forced to foot the bill of his unhinged decisions.
When it comes to the Big Bad Bill, Trump is doing what he does best: lying. Trump is a con artist but he's not going to be able to con his way out of the suffering that is going to hit families. This is going to be catastrophic for patients, hospitals, and providers in CO & across the country
This is Trump’s latest scam to enrich himself at the expense of the rest of us. That’s why I’m using my position to support legislation so Trump and future leaders can’t profit from their positions. Trump continues to sell off the interests of the US to benefit his own. Absolutely disgraceful.
Trump's Big Bad Bill is a catastrophe for our families Hospitals and nursing homes will shutter. Kids will go hungry. ERs will be completely overrun. Trump said he was going to lower costs on day one. Instead he's puling the rug out and dismantling the systems we all rely on.
Colorado is still reeling from the terrorist attack in Boulder. But now Trump is illegally withholding billions of dollars already approved by Congress for FEMA to help us prevent attacks like this. This is completely backwards and puts us all at risk.
Had a great tour of the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine, one of the biggest employers in Cripple Creek & home to one of the world’s only high-altitude electric mining vehicles. There are only 5 like it in the entire world!  Thanks so much for showing me around!
Thank you to everyone who joined our town halls in Cañon City and Woodland Park - it means so much to hear directly from you. One woman shared how Medicaid keeps her husband alive. Farmers told us how critical the program is to them. These stories stay with me.  I will always show up for you.
Trump and the Republicans just gave ICE Detention $45B to expand their capacity six former prison sites in Colorado are being considered for new ICE detention centers. To protect immigrant families we must make sure Colorado does not become a part of Trump’s plan to terrorize immigrant communities.
.@SCOTUS just gave Trump the green light to continue to gut our federal workforce & slash tens of thousands of employees. These are people who we not only rely on for services but also people who live in our communities, have families and contribute to our economy.
Today is Black Women's Equal Pay Day, marking how much further into the year Black women have to work to earn what white men earned in the previous year. I helped write and pass the strongest equal pay law in the country in CO. And I will keep working so that every woman is paid their work.
Happy birthday to my mom, who has taught me the most about empathy, forgiveness, and fighting for those who are often left behind. After 30 years of struggling with addiction, we were finally able to give my mom the support she needed, and everyone deserves that same chance. I love you, Mom.
