This week, I got to meet with Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Olga Stefanishyna, alongside my fellow Co-Chairs of the Ukraine Caucus. (more below!)
I was proud to vote against these bills and will keep advocating for policies that will lower costs AND protect the environment alongside my fellow Sustainable Energy & Environment Coalition members.
This week, House Republicans passed THREE BILLS to raise your electricity costs and abandon cheap, clean energy. Once again, they have chosen to double down on failed policies that have increased electricity prices 13% nationwide since the beginning of Trump’s term.
Trump also plans on erasing the commonsense climate measures from our national security, letting China win the clean energy battle and sacrificing jobs at home.
Trump also wants to sell out Europe, Ukraine, and NATO, abandoning the relationships that have kept Americans safe since World War 2. This would reward Putin and raise energy prices.
Trump wants to activate the U.S. military across the Western hemisphere. This deployment will only waste resources and escalate tensions. It will make us less prosperous and less safe.
The White House just released Trump’s National Security Strategy. And just like him, it’s a mess. This entire plan puts America at risk, but I’m sharing his three worst ideas here. (🧵)
Under Trump, the United States does not have a science-based Environmental Protection Agency. We have partisans, led by Lee Zeldin, committed to denying decades of scientific research. They're hellbent on destroying our environment and censoring anyone who says otherwise.
Did some shopping at the Des Plaines Winter Fair. While I was there, I met the team behind Soapie Squad. They make products free of artificial dyes and harsh chemicals, but they’re struggling under Trump’s economy. We need to stop Trump’s tariffs to keep small businesses like this one ‘afloat!’🧼🛁
The Trump administration claims it’s going after the ‘worst of the worst,’ but we know the truth. They’re targeting everyone – even the innocent.
The real ‘war on Christmas’ is Trump’s destruction of the economy. Many Americans won’t be able to buy presents for their kids this year.
In another slight to the legacy of Black Americans, Trump just took away free-entry days at our national parks for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth. This blatant racism cannot go unnoticed or unchallenged.
The Trump administration has diverted 80% of ATF agents from gun trafficking cases – all to target immigrants.   He’s letting actual criminals get off scot-free while attacking cities like Chicago.
Happy Holidays! I was honored to help Reverend Wille light the All Saints Church Christmas tree in Ravenswood this weekend. Hope everyone's enjoying the holiday season🎄🕯️❄️
Reprehensible. Admiral Levine is a four-star officer who has spent her life keeping Americans healthy.

This isn’t the respect she deserves.
During the shutdown, workers at the Dep't of Health & Human Services HQ changed the name under Admiral Rachel Levine's portrait to her deadname—a petty action against the first openly-trans person confirmed by the Senate that serves no point other than to disrespect & erase her.
NPR: "HHS changed the name of transgender health leader on her official portrait." Read the full story at the link in our bio. IMAGE: Admiral Rachel Levine.
Nayra has no criminal record. She’s here with a legal work permit while she awaits the results of her asylum application.    Instead of going after “the worst of the worst,” Trump is attacking mothers and families.
ICE detained new mother Nayra days after she gave birth while she was headed to visit her baby in the NICU. Then, she was thrown in Broadview with no postpartum care and limited food and water despite being a Type 1 diabetic. (More below)
