Happy National Food Bank Day! I enjoyed visiting Nourishing Hope this year and learning how they keep our communities fed. Trump's Big Ugly Bill has cut billions in funding that makes food affordable for our most vulnerable. We're going to have fight hard to keep food banks open & fully stocked.
Recently, I got to visit Green Era on Chicago’s South Side this week. They’re turning our food waste into clean energy for our city. Check it out.
Chicago would like federal resources to address crime. That’s why I secured $2.5 million for our cops to have bulletproof vests and better squad car technology!   But for Trump to send the National Guard? That’s a PR stunt — not to mention expensive AND illegal.

As MN kids wrapped up their first day at school, I stood with the MN delegation in a moment of silence. We honored the two lives lost, the 21 injured and the immeasurable lives forever changed from last week’s shooting at Annunciation Catholic School. It’s time to pass common-sense gun laws.
Let’s tell it like it is: RFK Jr. is a moron.

I’m proud to be one of the first members of Congress to call for his removal back in June, and I’m going to keep doing that until he’s gone. We need a Health Secretary who operates on facts, not fiction.
I just signed a bipartisan discharge petition to force the Trump administration to release the #Epstein files. The public deserves to know the truth.
Congratulations to Representative Jerry Nadler on his retirement and long career in public service!    During his tenure in Congress, @nadler.house.gov has been an advocate for our cities and served as a leading voice against the first Trump administration.
Happy Labor Day!💪🏻💼🇺🇸 Today, we celebrate the work and achievements of laborers and unions throughout history — including weekends, overtime pay, and the end of child labor.
Enough is enough. The crisis in Gaza must end. I’m joining dozens of my Democratic colleagues in demanding Trump and Marco Rubio allow children in Gaza to get baby formula and medical visas. This aid is essential to their survival.
Earlier this week, I had an opportunity to tour the future site for the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP) on the South Side of Chicago. This innovative site will be the home of quantum technology research in Chicago and create jobs for our city⚛️💼
Our president is a whimp. How is Russia, or any country, supposed to take the United States seriously with him in office? @meidastouch.com @meiselasb.bsky.social
Quigley: Trump acts like a tough guy when it comes to going after some undocumented kid, but when he comes up against someone tougher than him, this president is a wimp.
I had the honor of joining Indivisible at their town hall last night. Things are tough right now, and people are asking “what can I do to help?” We have to get to work.
The Foundation's team shared updates on the new Obama Presidential Center — and how it will create 150 full-time jobs when it opens in Chicago next year. (2/2)
Really enjoyed this informational session by the @obamafoundation.bsky.social this week. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday President @barackobama.bsky.social took office, and I decided to start my first run for Congress. (1/2)
20 years after #HurricaneKatrina wreaked havoc through New Orleans, we continue to suffer through frequent extreme weather disasters from climate change. But Trump and his cronies are dismantling the agencies that provide critical support to help people prepare and respond to disasters.
