It is a dark day for freedom of the press. Paramount’s decision to settle with Trump will only embolden him to continue his attack on the media. Trump is undermining our democracy and moving us towards authoritarianism, and the billionaires are helping him do it.
Many seniors can’t afford dental care, hearing aids or glasses. I’m proud that all Democrats supported my amendment last night to expand Medicare to cover dental, hearing and vision paid for by cutting prescription drug costs for Medicare in half. No Republicans voted for it.
I hope my Republican colleagues will listen to their constituents and vote against this obscene legislation, which is a massive wealth transfer to the very wealthy from the working class.
The Big, Beautiful Bill throws 16 million off health care & decimates our already broken system. I have an amendment to do the opposite. We EXPAND Medicare to cover dental, hearing & vision & pay for it by cutting prescription drug prices in half. Will any Republican support it?
It is obscene to give tax breaks to the top 1% by throwing more than 16 million people off health care, cutting nutrition for hungry kids and making it harder for working class young people to go to college. That is exactly what Trump's budget reconciliation bill does.
This 940-page reconciliation bill has a list of horrific provisions. One of the worst is a $211 billion tax break to the top 0.2% who inherit $30 million. In this bill 16 million lose health care & hungry kids lose nutrition. Meanwhile, billionaires get much richer. Disgusting.
How grotesque. The Republican reconciliation bill cuts nutrition programs for hungry kids in order to give tax breaks to billionaires. Good luck to my Republican colleagues in explaining the morality of that to their constituents.
New York Times: Senate Republicans Reprise Push to Pay for Tax Cuts by Slashing Food Stamps
The Republican reconciliation bill is a disaster. Instead of slashing Medicaid and throwing 16 million people off of the health care they have, why don’t we do what every other wealthy nation does. GUARANTEE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL AS A HUMAN RIGHT.
While the world watches Israel's war with Iran, Netanyahu's extremist government continues to starve and massacre Palestinians in Gaza. Today, Israeli forces again opened fire on people desperately trying to collect food aid, killing dozens. Over 56,000 have been killed so far.
BREAKING: Palestinian witnesses and hospitals say Israeli forces opened fire toward hundreds of people waiting for aid trucks in central Gaza, killing at least 25 people.
This is oligarchy. This is obscene. While 60% live paycheck to paycheck & kids go hungry, Jeff Bezos, worth $230 billion, goes to Venice on his $500 million yacht for a $20 million wedding & spends $5 million on a ring while his real tax rate is just 1.1%. End this oligarchy.
The American people were lied to about Vietnam, with tragic consequences. The American people were lied to about Iraq, with tragic consequences. The American people are being lied to again today. We cannot allow history to repeat itself.
Democrats cannot complain about Trump’s authoritarianism while ignoring their own constitutional responsibility regarding taking the country to war. Democrats must support Sen. Kaine’s War Powers Resolution. The U.S. must not get involved in Netanyahu’s war.
Tonight, I introduced legislation to stop Trump from from leading us into an illegal war with Iran. Another war in the Middle East could cost countless lives, waste trillions more dollars, and lead to even more deaths, more conflict, and more displacement.
It's unacceptable that 3,000 grocery workers in Minnesota have been without a union contract for 3 months. It's time for the CEOs of Cub Foods, Knowlan's & Haug's to end their outrageous corporate greed, negotiate in good faith with the UFCW & treat their workers with respect.
