The Trump administration is snatching health care away from 17 million Americans, destroying access to food assistance, and uprooting the clean energy industry within this country. I spoke with @msnbc.com about the Big Ugly Bill and why it should not pass.

Jeffries: "16 members of the House Republican conference who just a few days ago made clear on the record that they will not support devastating cuts to Medicaid -- all we need are 4 Republicans from this group to join us and we can stop these devastating cuts to Medicaid. Join us!"
Under the Big Ugly Bill, 17 million people will lose health coverage due to Medicaid, Affordable Care Act, and Medicare cuts, all to pay for billionaire tax breaks. I see where President Trump’s loyalties lie, but mine are with the American people. We must stop this legislation from passing.
The Big Ugly Bill will cut Apple Health for hundreds of thousands of Washingtonians, while millions nationwide will lose access to health care and nutrition assistance. We cannot pass this horrible legislation.
50 Senators voted to pass a bill that would add over $3.3T to the national debt, which already totals over $36,000,000,000,000. President Trump is dragging us into an economic crisis if the Big Ugly Bill is passed. I will be voting NO.
The Big Ugly Bill is removing over a trillion dollars in basic needs programs to benefit seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families, and risking 840,000 jobs in clean energy. President Trump is leading this country down a reckless, autocratic path.
5 million people could lose food assistance if the House passes President Trump’s rushed, devastating, big, ugly bill. More states may be forced to withdraw from SNAP programs altogether if they can’t pay the fiscal demands.
President Trump campaigned on balancing the budget, but his Big Ugly Bill will instead add over $3T to the debt. He is lying to the American people and breaking promises. We must vote NO on this legislation.
The Republican Budget Bill is the largest cut to health care in the history of this country. This is the worst piece of legislation I have ever seen. I’m voting NO.
The Big Ugly Bill increases Apple Health co-pays for hard-working individuals making as little as $1,300 a month. I know how difficult it is to make ends meet, and I will not stand for President Trump or Republicans making it any harder.
The Senate reconciliation bill increases Apple Health co-pays for hard-working individuals making as little as $1,300 a month. I know how difficult it is to make ends meet, and I will not stand for President Trump or Republicans making it any harder.
The Senate just passed a Big Ugly Bill that takes over $1,000,000,000,000 away from seniors, people with disabilities, and low-income families. This legislation betrays the working class.
In Washington State alone, over 328,000 people are projected to lose health care coverage, including access to Apple Health, if the Big Ugly Bill becomes law. I am a strong NO on this legislation, and I urge my Republican colleagues to vote the same.
After the Senate passed the Big Ugly Bill, I wanted to remind folks that this reconciliation plan gives a $4.6 trillion tax handout to the wealthiest in exchange for the gutting of Medicaid, SNAP, and other essential programs.
The Big Ugly Bill should not be passed through Congress. It adds $3 trillion to the debt, takes health care away from working families, and hands money to the wealthiest one percent.
