NEW: Tempe's Amkor Technology, Inc. signed a final agreement for $407 million under our CHIPS Act to build one of the very first advanced packaging facilities in the United States here in Arizona—making our entire semiconductor supply chain more efficient and resilient.
Speaker Johnson walked away from a bipartisan compromise deal. Now his sloppy, eleventh-hour Hail Mary cuts health care for kids and raises prescription drug costs so Elon Musk and his billionaire buddies can do more business with China and avoid paying taxes. I voted NO.
A deal is a deal. We negotiated a plan to fund the government in good faith, agreed to by both sides. But now Speaker Johnson is going back on his word because Elon Musk told him to—forcing millions of Americans, including our troops, to go without pay through the holidays.
Last week, the House unanimously passed our bipartisan Water Resources Development Act. Today, the Senate voted to pass it, which means it's heading to the President's desk to become law. I worked hard to include big wins for Arizona in the final bill. Check it out ⬇️
Birth control is health care, and it should be accessible to everyone who wants and needs it. I joined my colleagues in a letter urging federal officials to improve contraception coverage, including over-the-counter birth control.
I welcomed the Valleywise Health team to Capitol Hill last week to talk about improving health care for Arizonans—from continuing our work to lower the cost of prescription drugs to protecting the Affordable Care Act.
Congratulations to Dr. Matthew Strom on winning a unanimous vote to be the next superintendent of Mesa Public Schools! With 27 years of experience in public education under your belt, I look forward to seeing the impact of your leadership in our schools. www.themesatribune.com/news/strom-p...
I hosted a roundtable with Representative-elect @yassaminansari.bsky.social and health care providers about the Affordable Care Act. The ACA is under threat—including protections for pre-existing conditions and Medicaid expansion in Arizona. We need to build on the ACA, not tear it apart.
Way to go, Mayor John Giles and the City of Mesa! Mesa was recognized by the United Nations as a global leader in sustainable development for their innovative approach to clean energy, sustainable water management and urban heat protection. mesanow.org/news/public/...
Dick Van Arsdale is a Phoenix Suns legend. He scored the first-ever points for our team & led us to our first NBA Finals appearance. Dick helped shape the team & culture into what it is today & was an impactful leader on & off the court. RIP to the Original Sun. arizonasports.com/story/356764...
Honored to speak at ASU’s premiere of ‘The Six Triple Eight,’ the incredible story of the largest group of Black servicewomen to serve overseas during World War II, alongside Maj. Frannie McClendon. 104-year-old Maj. McClendon is one of just two women still alive today from the Six Triple Eight.
We're delivering big wins for Arizona in the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act, including: 🚰$250 million for the water infrastructure fund I created 🌱$215 million to complete the Tres Rios ecosystem restoration project 💧My bill to combat drought & more! stanton.house.gov/2024/12/fina...

Shirley Chisholm—the first Black Congresswoman—fought discrimination & hate wherever it was, including from her own colleagues in Congress. Proud to have supported this bipartisan bill to recognize her activism & courage with the Congressional Gold Medal. www.washingtoninformer.com/shirley-chis...
Once a year, people from near and far join our community for the City of Chandler’s Tumbleweed Tree Lighting. Made of roughly 1,000 tumbleweeds, it is a tradition like no other. Glad my team was able to join yesterday’s ceremony!
