Families are paying as much for child care as for their mortgage costs.
Hear from real Oregon families about the cost of child care and how I am fighting to make it more affordable👇
Folks in rural communities shouldn’t have to drive hours away for medical care or have to worry about delivering a baby in the car.
My new bill helps rural providers stay afloat so they can keep offering care to the people who live nearby. Read more 👇

Taxpayer dollars should go towards making life more comfortable for Americans, not more dangerous.
ICE needs to stop harming our communities. Accountability can’t wait.
Click below for more on how I am working to rein in ICE.
I met with the Oregon National Education Association to discuss the harm done to our educators by ICE enforcement & Trump’s dismantling of the Department of Education.
If they care about our students and teachers, they should be strengthening our schools, not inciting fear and stripping resources.
I met with the Oregon Primary Care Association, which represents Federally Qualified Health Centers serving 500,000+ Oregonians.
These institutions are critical to providing affordable, quality care to our communities, and I will continue working to ensure they are successful.
Today, we honor the Japanese Americans who were unjustly relocated and incarcerated during WWII.
Constitutional rights were cast aside in a climate of fear and prejudice — a history worth remembering as the Trump Administration continues to trample on our basic freedoms today.
I met with #OR06 parents and providers in #Salem to discuss how the cost of child care is cutting into the family budgets.
That's why I remain committed to finding solutions to cap these costs so you can spend less time worrying about paying for child care and spend more time with your children.
🚨 Attention all #OR06 high school students!
My office is now accepting submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition 🎨

Working families are being crushed under the weight of Trump’s mismanaged economy.
Republicans’ solution? HUGE tax cuts for billionaires.
They don’t care about everyday Americans.
I am finding real ways to lower the cost of child care for families here in Oregon and across the country.
That is why I am working on legislation that will allow families to pay no more than 7% of their income on child care.
Tune in to hear more 🎧
It was great to meet with Portland-area auto workers and UO student workers represented by UAW.
Whether they’re working in the automotive sector or across campuses, I’m proud to stand with our unions.

ICYMI: Last week, 28 New Dems, led by Leadership Member @salinas.house.gov, sent a letter to DHS, ICE, and CBP demanding answers about the training ICE and CBP agents receive.

Dreamies Creamery is a farm-to-table family business that makes delicious ice cream from local sheep's milk. They recently earned a USDA Dairy Business Innovation Initiative grant.
My staff toured their new facility in Independence to see firsthand the great work Dreamies is doing in #OR06.
I welcomed leaders from Chemeketa Community College & Portland Community College to my D.C. office, where we discussed opportunities for funding & workforce readiness.
In Congress, I’ll continue advocating for the resources needed to support our community colleges & their students here in #OR06.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social and I won’t stop fighting to protect the care that you need. (2/2)
Many Americans will pay double or triple their health care costs because Republicans REFUSED to extend cost-saving health care tax credits.
On top of this, so many of our #OR06 neighbors will lose their health care entirely because of Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill. (1/2)
Ramadan Mubarak!
I’m wishing all who celebrate in #OR06 and across the world a peaceful and reflective holy month.
The American people deserve to know if ICE agents are trained to break the law or if they’re poorly trained.
That's why my @newdems.bsky.social colleagues and I sent a letter to ICE, DHS, and CBP demanding answers. NOW.
