I just joined Fitchburg leaders to cut the ribbon on NewVue’s latest housing project – 68 new units downtown, including for artists – made possible by $20M+ in federal funds I helped secure. I'm committed to growing our housing supply and making our communities more affordable!
Last year, $75M in CSBG funds helped Massachusetts families with job training, housing, nutrition programs and heating assistance. Trump’s budget wipes that out entirely. Republicans have a choice: stand up to Trump or let hardworking families face higher bills, colder homes and less opportunity.
Gut-wrenching news out of Minneapolis as just days into the school year, kids and teachers were targeted in a shooting. My heart goes out to the families of the two children killed, and many who are injured. No parent should fear sending their child to school. It has to change.
This Women’s Equality Day, we honor the leaders of the women’s suffrage movement who fought tirelessly for the right to vote. The fight continues today as attacks on women’s rights and access to the ballot box make defending and expanding these rights more important than ever.
As hardworking families get ready for kids to go back to school, they are being squeezed at the checkout line as food prices keep climbing. Everyone deserves to know they can put good meals on the table without worrying about keeping a roof over their heads.
Trump's efforts to remove Dr. Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve Board of Governors are not only unfounded, they are dangerous. His reckless actions will have direct, harmful impacts on hardworking families, seniors, and students.
Americans of all ages are struggling with mental health challenges, particularly our youth. That’s why it makes absolutely no sense for Donald Trump to make it easier for insurers to deny mental health care for patients in need.
For decades, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program has been a vital part of how we thank first responders, teachers, nurses and others for their service to our communities. Donald Trump’s attempt to politicize this program is a disgrace.
Prices have SKYROCKETED on back to school essentials because of Trump’s tariffs, and hardworking families are paying the price. Just another promise broken from Trump. Our kids and teachers deserve better.
@trahan.house.gov and I reintroduced the Pipeline Accountability Act—a bold, bicameral effort to improve safety standards, boost transparency, and give communities a real say in pipeline decisions. Our safety regulations should be as strong as the neighborhoods they protect.
Shriver Job Corps in Devens and facilities like it across the country are critical to creating the next generation of American workers who will power our future. On the anniversary of the Economic Opportunity Act, we remember that these programs follow through on the promise of the American Dream!
Seniors deserve to live in a quality, safe home they can afford. That’s why YWCA’s work to build nearly 100 new affordable housing units in Methuen is so important, and it’s why I secured $11.8 million to help them complete this important initiative!
Yesterday, we celebrated the opening of the GLFHC’s West Site Expansion & Renovation project — a major project that is increasing the facility’s capacity for serving patients. Proud to have secured $2 million in federal funding to get this project done!
Republicans lied [again]. DOGE wasted $21.7 BILLION in taxpayer dollars. That would have been enough to: 🍎 Give 28.6M kids free school lunch 🏥 Expand Medicaid to 2.4M Americans 🥫 Keep nutrition assistance for 5.3M families
What a week! On Wednesday, we FINALLY broke ground on the Rourke Bridge Replacement Project! Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we secured $251 million in federal funding to build a brand new, state-of-the-art bridge that works for all of us.
Slashing SNAP isn’t just cruel — it's bad math. Every $1 in SNAP returns $1.80 to rural communities, not to mention the food it puts on the table for hungry families and children. Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill is ripping $25B from farmers and grocers and taking food off of hard working Americans’ tables.
