JUST NOW: Republicans canceled a scheduled vote on War Powers legislation to end Donald Trump's war in Iran.
They knew they would lose, so they pulled the bill from the floor. Pathetic.
The president and his allies should live by the same rules as everyone else. Enough.
American taxpayers are already being squeezed by high prices at the pump and grocery checkout.
Now they’re being asked to pay for a ballroom they’ll never see and the legal bills of January 6 rioters?
I don’t think so.
Every year, the Congressional Art Competition reminds me just how much talent we have right here in the Third District. Congratulations to this year’s participants for having the courage to submit your art, and congrats to Nate Kim for taking home first place!

And right up to the very end, he was still fighting, still speaking plainly, still demanding more of his party and his country.
My heart goes out to his husband Jim, his family, his friends, and everyone mourning this painful loss. (4/4)
He was a true legislator who understood the role of Congress, passing the Dodd Frank Wall Street Reform & Consumer Protection Act to protect the American people after the 2008 banking crisis. (3/4)
For more than 30 years, he showed up – as a champion for consumers, a watchdog over Wall Street, and a trailblazer for equality. He came out as gay while serving in Congress and married the love of his life. (2/4)
Congressman Barney Frank was as fierce as he was smart. He fought for his constituents, for our Commonwealth, and for a brighter future for our country. (1/4)
House Republicans are planning to vote THIS WEEK to send $75 BILLION to ICE.
No reforms. No protections for our communities. Just another slush fund.
I’m voting NO.
Massachusetts has strong laws in place to prevent animal cruelty. That's why it's infuriating that Republicans in Washington are trying to jam through a provision that would overturn our prohibition on keeping farm animals in extreme confinement.
Proud to oppose this horrible bill.
We’ve seen where this road leads before. It is an unacceptable step backward that echoes the darkest chapters of Jim Crow and the long fight for civil rights.
This fight will take all of us. We won’t go back.
Within days of the Supreme Court’s decision to gut the Voting Rights Act, Republican-controlled states across the South are quickly moving to dismantle majority-Black districts.
Their goal is clear: dilute the voices of Black voters and weaken their representation in government for partisan gain.
Chelmsford firefighter Nick Spinale has stepped up for our community and trained firefighters across Massachusetts. He deserves to recover with the support he's owed.
I'm grateful to @massgovernor.bsky.social for acting to fix this and wish Nick a speedy recovery.
Mifepristone was safe when the FDA first approved it over two decades ago, and it has been safe and effective for the millions of women who have used it since.
Allowing continued access to this medication is the right decision. End of story.
30 students, highest level ESOL class, showing up Monday through Wednesday to build a better life for their families and a stronger community for all of us.
My grandparents came to Lowell hardly knowing a word of English. This city gave them a chance anyway.
Yesterday, I stopped by the Abisi Adult Education Center, a place that's been doing exactly that for over 100 years.
Families are struggling to pay for groceries and gas because of Donald Trump's war in Iran.
Meanwhile, he keeps talking up his ballroom, which he's trying to secure $1 BILLION in taxpayer funding to build.
It's a disgrace.
The fear is real. The impact on our communities is real. And the people making these decisions in Washington need to hear from the families living it every day.
Grateful for the conversation and committed to keeping up the fight for the communities I represent.
I sat down last week with Santiago Matías on El Tapón alongside State Senator Pavel Payano to talk about what federal immigration enforcement is actually doing to families in Lawrence and across the Merrimack Valley.
