The discharge petition to force a vote on extending ACA tax credits has received the necessary 218 signatures. We are demanding an immediate vote in the House to extend these tax credits before December 31. Congress should not leave for the holidays without stopping premiums from skyrocketing.
Rural families have carried the burden of strained health care for far too long. We’re done being told to “make do.” It’s time for a rural health-care revolution that delivers dependable, affordable care close to home: www.washingtontimes.com/news/2025/de...
Reposted byRep. Jill Tokuda
"When avoidable illness becomes fatal simply because care is too far or too expensive, the system is not in need of repair. It’s in need of a revolution." writes @tokuda.house.gov in the Revitalizing Rural America special section.
@demwomencaucus.bsky.social & the Hawaiʻi Congressional Delegation are demanding accountability & justice for our service members & their families who have been violated by the horrific sexual misconduct at Fort Hood and Tripler.
Mahalo to We Are Oceania for meeting to discuss how we can better protect & support Micronesian families who live, work, and contribute to Hawaiʻi. Grateful for your work with the Pacific Islanders who call our islands home.
Happy to join Wreaths Across America Hawaiʻi, military families & local students at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol as they launch the season of remembrance — a time to pay our respects and honor those who sacrificed for our freedom. Mahalo for your service, not just today, but every day.
Joined my CPC colleagues to sound the alarm: Trump’s targeting of people based on how they look or where they come from and his assault on legal pathways to citizenship must stop. Eighty years after Japanese Americans were imprisoned, we are breaking our promise to do better. Enough is enough.
Honored to sit with these aspiring nursing students from Chaminade as they explore rural health & how to address health disparities & mental health access in homeless communities in Waiʻanae & throughout our state. Mahalo for the heart and compassion you bring to our future health care workforce!
Met with local domestic violence advocates, Army Criminal Investigators & the Army Family Advocacy Program at Schofield to discuss how we can support survivors & strengthen safety for our military families. Grateful for their partnership & the chance to connect with our junior enlisted soldiers.
Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃 Honored to join The Salvation Army as they celebrate 130 years of service & selflessness on Maui. Their commitment to helping through natural disasters and moments of hardship is true aloha in action!
Grateful for our faith community, which continues to stand on the front lines for those who are scared, in need, or seeking a safe place to get help. I’m looking forward to future conversations on how we can work together to best serve and support our friends and neighbors.
Met with Mayor Alameda after the Coconut Island Bridge collapse to check in and discuss a path forward to restore the damage. Our priority is making sure repairs are safe, sturdy & done right, and we will continue exploring federal resources to support the County's work to rebuild.
This Rural Health Day, the Bipartisan Rural Health Caucus stands united in our commitment to expanding access, improving services & strengthening the healthcare systems our rural communities depend on. Mahalo to our healthcare workers and first responders that keep our families healthy & safe.
On the House floor, I rose to honor the life and service of Maui County Councilmember Tasha Kama, a fierce advocate, a warm presence and a pillar of aloha. Hawaiʻi needs more Tashas. Sending love to the Kama ʻohana. May her courage, compassion, and legacy continue to guide us. Rest in aloha.
Justice was denied for decades — tonight’s vote to release the Epstein files is years overdue. Pedophiles don’t get protection. This is a win for the brave survivors who endured unimaginable horror. Now President Trump must sign the bill immediately and release ALL the files.
