🚨 The New World screwworm poses a serious threat to America's livestock, wildlife, and agriculture economy.
I joined my colleagues in urging the USDA to expand eradication and containment efforts to combat this dangerous parasite.

Our first responders risk their lives every day to keep us safe — and they deserve access to the training they need to do their jobs.
Trump is putting them at risk by canceling trainings at the National Fire Academy and Emergency Management Institute.
I'm demanding answers.
Wishing a happy Holi to everyone celebrating in Virginia and beyond! I hope the Festival of Colors brings you and your loved ones joy, happiness, and hope.
We must not thwart our opportunity to bring Republicans to the negotiating table and quell the chaos that is already happening at the hands of President Trump and Elon Musk.
I voted NO on the House GOP’s funding bill that slashes investments in our nation's veterans and law enforcement.
America makes a promise to those who serve — whether overseas or in our neighborhoods.
It is shameful that Republicans are purposefully breaking this promise.
I was pleased to welcome two youth leaders taking part in Mayor Derrick Wood's Youth Leadership Program to the U.S. Capitol this week.
I was so impressed by Jordan and Darron — and I have no doubt that they have incredibly bright futures ahead!
This weekend, I attended Neabsco Baptist Church at the invitation of Supervisor Victor Angry.
I was honored to speak with Pastor Speights about our shared values and continued commitment to fighting for Virginians.
Congressman Raul Grijalva was a fighter — for the people of Southern Arizona, for our climate and environment, and most recently in a courageous battle against cancer.
Cindy and I are thinking of his family and loved ones today. He will be terribly missed as a colleague in Congress.
🚨Congress is racing toward a shutdown.
This week, I’m ready to pass a 30-day funding extension to give Rs time to negotiate a deal that doesn’t gut funding for veterans or law enforcement.
But long term? I’m leading a bipartisan bill to end these last-minute crises for good.
I met with principals from across the Commonwealth — including my daughter Madi's elementary school principal Amy Schott.
Public schools are the foundation of the American Dream, and I’m committed to strengthening them in Virginia and beyond.
Thanks for stopping by!
House Democrats stand united for a 30 day funding extension that stops harmful cuts, keeps the government open, and allows Congress to reach a bipartisan funding agreement.
I am ready to vote today, tomorrow, or Friday to pass a four-week extension.
🎨 My office is now accepting submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition!
The winning artwork will hang in the U.S. Capitol for an entire year.
Visit vindman.house.gov/services/art-competition for more information and to register.
Thank you to U.S. Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger for your years of dedicated service to our U.S. Capitol.
Your commitment to safeguarding the seat of our nation’s government — and the lawmakers, staff, and visitors within it — is appreciated.
🚨 Today, I voted no on Republicans’ reckless cuts because I will not support defunding the police or slashing veterans’ benefits — period.
You can read my full statement below.
The House GOP doesn’t care how a shutdown would hurt you — they’re risking chaos to hand tax breaks to billionaires and slash benefits for veterans.
If they were serious about keeping the government open but couldn’t do it alone, they should have negotiated with Democrats.
Slashing VA funding means longer wait times, delayed care, and missed crisis calls.
Our heroes put their lives on the line for this country, and they deserve better than having to pay the price of budget cuts.
Hardworking Americans understand that if you don’t do your job, you don’t get paid — and Congress should be no different.
That’s why Rep. Brian Fitz and I are leading a bipartisan bill to require Members of Congress to work without pay in the event of a government shutdown.
I am ready and willing to work across the aisle to keep the government open — but I will not support a bill that slashes health care funding for kids and cuts nearly $23 billion in veterans’ benefits.
Speaker Johnson, the ball is in your court.
As a veteran, I can’t support a bill that would cut $23 billion from care for veterans exposed to
Agent Orange, burn pits, and toxic substances during their service to our country.
The House GOP must work across the aisle to fund the government in a responsible way.
This bill defunds two things: police and veterans. House GOP, this you?
