I may be from Savannah, but Atlanta holds a special place in my heart. The cradle of the Civil Rights Movement, the hip-hop capital of the world, and a hub of economic enterprise—Atlanta keeps raising the bar. Happy #404Day, Atlanta!
58 years ago today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Georgia’s greatest son, was taken from us in a violent act of hate. His legacy lives on in the work we do to build his beloved community and to bend the moral arc of the universe towards justice.
One year since so-called "Liberation Day" and the results are in. Everything has gotten more expensive while American manufacturing jobs disappear. I would submit that it's a strange liberation and a curious freedom that raises prices and leaves you unemployed.
Think about this. If the SAVE Act passes, your driver’s license won’t be enough to register in most states. Even your Social Security number won’t be enough. You’ll need your birth certificate or a passport just to register.
It's already illegal to vote if you're not a citizen. They're trying to convince us there are droves of people who are willing to risk deportation and the abuse that we are seeing from ICE to vote illegally. It defies credulity and it's simply not true.
