Joined @booker.senate.gov and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social for a sit-in at the Capitol Building this afternoon. The power is with the people and the people are coming together to say NO to Washington Republican cuts to health care and food stamps.

The decision of whether to run for re-election has not been easy. I truly love the job of being a United States Senator. But in my heart, I know it’s time to pass the torch. So, I am announcing today that I will not be seeking re-election at the end of my term.
Happy Earth Day! Our planet is precious and as a pastor, I believe we are all called to be good stewards of our earth. So let’s reaffirm our commitment to protect this gift and continue working towards a clean and sustainable future.
I’m deeply saddened by the passing of Pope Francis. As a longtime admirer of the Pope and his work to center the poor & marginalized, I was honored to meet him & pray with him last year. I join all those across the world mourning his death and celebrating his remarkable life.
I am deeply saddened by the senseless violence at FSU today. I’m praying for the victims, their families, and the entire community. We must resolve to meet our prayers with action so that no more students are forced to endure the trauma of gun violence in their classrooms.
