My heart breaks for the families hurt by these cuts and for our communities who lost vital watchdogs, including South Florida’s Spanish-speakers who are forced to go without important reporters at El Nuevo Herald. Strong journalism builds a strong democracy.
Public officials who stole $10M from sick children & funneled it into dark money political ads must be held accountable. These are taxpayer dollars. I applaud @robertgarcia.bsky.social, @maxwellfrost.bsky.social and @oversightdemocrats.bsky.social for demanding answers & real justice. I will too.
🚨 BREAKING: Oversight Dems DEMAND answers from Gov. Ron DeSantis on diverting $10 MILLION meant for Floridians struggling to afford healthcare to his wife Casey DeSantis's "nonprofit." Trump may ignore these allegations of corruption, but we will fight for accountability.
Horrified to hear about the crash of 21 Air Flight 7598 in Miami. Thank you to the first responders for their quick and heroic work to respond. My heart is with the victims of the crash and their families. May their memories be for a blessing.
BREAKING: At least five people are dead and multiple injured after an Amazon-branded cargo plane overran the runway at Miami International Airport, officials say.
Instead of pushing for elections and ending corruption in Venezuela, Trump and Rubio cut a deal to prop up the regime and enrich their billionaire donors by robbing Venezuela's natural resources. This is a slap in the face to Venezuelans. We must stop this corrupt oil deal.
People in recovery need our support. During National Recovery Month, we celebrate the ones making major changes, and those working to end stigmas around substance use and addiction. Everyone deserves access to the care, resources, and help they need to recover and thrive.
