13 years ago, Role Model Trayvon Martin was murdered in a in a brutal act of racial profiling. He should have been alive and with us today. I still love you Trayvon and today, I continue to fight against racism and injustice in his memory.
I just came off the House floor and voted ‘NO’ on Republicans’ draconian budget scheme that cuts Medicaid and SNAP to fund tax cuts for their billionaire donors. The American people deserve better! This budget fight isn’t over and we must keep the pressure high on Republicans!
My heart goes out to ALL the civil servants Elon Musk has been firing—dedicated workers with bills to pay and families to support. Yet, Republicans sold out our government to an unelected billionaire, uprooting the lives of countless folks for campaign checks. SHAME!
Elon Musk doesn’t have a damn clue what he’s doing. Firings at Federal Aviation Administration hurts your travel safety. Firings at Defense Department hurts our national security. Firings at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau hurts your wallet.
Republicans want to slash Medicaid to reward their billionaire donors with tax breaks. I won’t vote for Medicaid cuts to help their billionaire donors—and Democrats only need three House Republicans to stop it. Republicans know better. It’s time they grow a spine.
The administration is waging war on federal workers—firing thousands from the VA, FAA, Education Department, IRS & more. These mass layoffs don’t just disrupt lives; they hurt veterans, students, public services, and public safety. Taxpayers will be the ones who pay the price.
I am prepared to take immediate action to try to fight this order because we cannot be in the business of deporting over 500,000 Haitian people, many of whom I represent, back to a country that is still riddled with gang violence and instability. It’s wrong, wrong, wrong!
Sending Haitians back to Haiti right now is a kiss of death. It’s not just wrong—it’s inhumane. This decision is completely outrageous and part of this administration’s reign of terror. The turmoil in Haiti is real, and instead of turning our backs, we should be supporting the Haitian people.
BREAKING: The Trump administration has rolled back an 18-month extension of deportation protections for over half-a-million Haitians currently residing in the United States, creating uncertainty and anxiety for recipients of the status.
I know many of my Republican colleagues disagree with what this White House is doing. Right now, all Democrats need are three Republicans willing to put country over party—to stand up and stop the damage. REPUBLICANS MUST SPEAK UP NOW! WE MUST PRESSURE THEM TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT!
While this administration is pushing out daily nonsense, Republicans put out their budget SLASHING Medicaid while giving tax cuts to the billionaires who support their political campaigns. They’re hoping you won’t notice, but WE MUST FIGHT BACK!
Gutting the Department of Education will only hurt our students most in need. Financial aid for college students? Our public school system? Equal access to K-12 and higher education? The safety of our students? Supporting students with disabilities? All on the chopping block!
Elon Musk is invading YOUR private data through the IRS, and Republicans are staying silent. An unelected billionaire should NOT be allowed to access YOUR private data. Congress must act to stop him—and all Democrats need is 3 House Republicans to join us.
President Elon Musk and the entire White House are taking control of the government in an unconstitutional power grab. And Congressional Republicans are no where to be found, giving up their power to the White House. EVERY REPUBLICAN MUST CALL OUT THIS ADMINISTRATION.
Today, I still think about the 17 lives lost in the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. I continue to hold them and their loved ones in my heart today and every day. May we honor their memory by working to build a safer community for all.
Republicans are pushing daily nonsense to hide their SHAMEFUL agenda—gutting Medicaid while giving tax breaks to the billionaire donors who bankroll their campaigns. They’re betting you won’t notice. But we must fight back!
Instead of selling government influence to campaign donors like Elon Musk, this year, I’ve been focused on lowering costs. I’ve proposed: ✔️‘Jobs Now Act’ to create more good paying jobs ✔️’Homeowners’ Defense Act’ to tackle our property insurance crisis
