I had a wonderful time speaking with the Forest Grove and Hillsboro Youth Advisory Councils! These involved and compassionate youth give me hope for the future of our country and democracy.
It was a honor to welcome members and leaders of the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) to their meeting Portland. Thank you for all you do to keep travelers safe!
The bill also expands the resources available for those who have been cheated by student loan companies and for-profit colleges.
We have a responsibility to protect students and young consumers from fraudulent and dishonest lenders. Reopening this important CFPB office is an important step forward for accountability in the student loan system. 🧵
Thank you to all who came to my Tillamook County town hall meeting! My next town hall meeting will be in Multnomah County later this month on March 23 at 6 p.m. More details will be announced soon.
TOWN HALL REMINDER: My Tillamook County town hall meeting is TODAY. I hope you will join me.
No one should be attacked or threatened at a place of worship or because of their faith. I strongly condemn the horrific recent events and joined several of my colleagues on this statement denouncing the violence.
I celebrated securing $1.031 million for the Oregon CASA Network leaders, volunteers, board members, and supporters. This funding will help recruit, train, supervise, and support volunteers to advocate on behalf of children and young people in the foster care system.
I was glad to stand with striking faculty and staff at PCC Rock Creek. The people on strike are deeply committed to the success of Portland Community College and PCC relies on their work to be successful. It’s time for a contract that reflects the respect and dignity they have earned.
Thank you to everyone who attended my Columbia County town hall meeting! My next event will be in Tillamook this coming Saturday.
Tillamook County Town Hall Meeting:
DATE: 3/14/26
TIME: 6pm
LOCATION: Tillamook High School Auditorium 2605 12th St, Tillamook, OR, 97141
The SAVE Act is a voter suppression bill that will undermine democracy by disenfranchising countless citizens - especially women. At one of my town hall meetings, someone asked what we can do to fight this. Keep speaking up, make your voices heard, and share credible information.
TOWN HALL REMINDER: My Columbia County town hall meeting is TODAY. I hope you will join me.
I call on Congress and the administration to do everything possible to bring safety and stability to the region immediately. And Sec. Hegseth should resign for this tragic recklessness.
This is tragic and inexcusable. The US military used outdated information and targeted a school, killing at least 175 people, mostly young girls.
The U.S. was responsible for a strike on an Iranian elementary school, an ongoing military investigation found. The inquiry said the strike — which Iranian officials said killed at least 175 people, most of them children — was the result of a targeting mistake. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/11/u...
Thank you to everyone at Virginia Garcia for persevering through these challenging times and continuing to serve your community.
Republicans want more money for ICE, but I am working to claw back the billions in ICE funding they already got and instead invest in health care and education to actually improve the lives of Oregonians and Americans.
Leaders at the Virginia Garcia Primary Care Clinic in Hillsboro confirmed that clinics across the country are negatively affected by the Big Ugly Bill and Trump’s chaotic and harmful immigration policies. People deserve to feel safe getting the care they need. 🧵
This funding means that 450,000 Hillsboro residents will continue to have access to safe drinking water in the event of a major earthquake.
I am excited to present the City of Hillsboro with $1.092 million in community project funds to support the restoration and seismic reinforcement of their water treatment plant. 🧵
