I'm joining Governor Tina Kotek's challenge to highlight good news in Oregon. I recently met with Constructing Hope to thank their former Executive Director Pat Daniels and to acknowledge the work of Noah Koné, their new Executive Director. 🧵

On this day 123 years ago, the first Korean Americans arrived in the U.S. Today on Korean American Day, we celebrate the community and the countless contributions by Korean Americans to the U.S. and to Oregon.
I’ve visited the Centro Mercado and know that it provides a welcoming space where people in Washington County can get free, healthy, and culturally relevant food. Thank you for your work to make good food accessible to the community.
Today is the 25th anniversary of the Roadless Rule. I call on the Trump administration to reverse course and protect our public lands for the next generation and generations to come.
Manufactured housing can be a low-cost option, but it won’t be affordable with high utility bills. We should not take away energy efficiency standards; they lead to lower energy costs and healthier homes.
This is what authoritarian leaders do. We have to keep fighting back.
I stand with people speaking out and protesting nonviolently, and I join my colleagues in calling for the impeachment of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
The Department of Homeland Security is an out of control federal agency and ICE and CBP agents are making communities less safe. They are causing fear, chaos, harm, and death. 🧵
DHS is creating fear in communities across the country; it’s part of the administration's strategy to divide us. Let's continue to make our voices heard and to protest nonviolently.
Claiming that these grants are unconstitutional is a misrepresentation of the law. I demand that the Department reinstate these necessary grant funds.
…including Hispanic Serving Institutions, Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions, and Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions.
I strongly condemn the Department of Education's recent announcement that they will no longer have grant programs to support many minority-serving institutions…🧵
Instead of fulfilling their legal and moral obligation to protect students, the Trump administration has fired more than half of the investigators in the Office for Civil Rights and closed seven of their 12 regional offices. This makes schools less safe for students in Oregon and across the country.
The Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights has not concluded a single investigation into complaints of racial discrimination and harassment against students since President Trump took office. This is unacceptable. 🧵
Those responsible must be investigated - and not just by Kash Patel’s FBI - and held accountable. I will do everything I can to put an end to this administration’s lawlessness. My thoughts are with those affected by this violence, and I wish a full recovery to the injured victims.
Federal agents just shot two people in Portland. Minneapolis yesterday, Portland today. This violence must stop now. 🧵
David and his wife in Tillamook saw their premiums increase by a whopping 474 percent after Republicans refused to extend the ACA tax credits. We are forcing a vote today and I will be a yes for David, and for all Oregonians who are seeing their premiums skyrocket. You deserve better.
We must stop the steep increase in health care costs by extending the ACA tax credits. Republican inaction caused costs to increase at the end of 2025, and people in NW Oregon are feeling the effects. I call on my colleagues across the aisle to join me in voting yes.
