As Vice-Chair of Policy, I was proud to lead my colleagues in the formation of this document to the governing agenda. We just released the "American Promise," which includes a concrete plan for how we can restore faith in government & fight corruption. @newdems.bsky.social

We need permanent year-round E15.
Now.
The President’s trade war has crushed soybean farmers across Central Illinois. I’m calling on the administration to secure a real, durable trade deal with China and deliver the stability our farmers need to compete and succeed.
Happy Jewish American Heritage Month! This month, we celebrate Jewish Americans across the nation and honor their culture and traditions that enrich our communities.

I’m fighting to lower gas prices and that includes making E-15 fuel available year-round. This is a win for drivers, farmers, and families.
Today I joined @budzinski.house.gov and Jed Bower, Ohio farmer, and President of the National Corn Growers to call on Congress to get this done.

New Dem Vice Chair for Policy @budzinski.house.gov joins @jessicatarlov.bsky.social and @thirdway.bsky.social's @lanaeerickson.bsky.social to discuss the New Dem Affordability Agenda—a roadmap for how we can lower costs for working families.

This week, we celebrate Women’s Health Week. Too many women still struggle to access affordable healthcare close to home. Supporting women’s health means supporting families, communities and future generations.
Working parents keep this country running. They deserve a childcare system that actually works for them. Reliable, affordable childcare helps parents work and kids thrive.
“We’re eating less, we’re eating more frozen stuff.”
Cutting SNAP benefits won’t lower grocery prices or help working families. It will just make it harder for kids, seniors, veterans and working parents to put food on the table.

Families are paying more at the grocery store, more at the gas pump, and more to keep a roof over their heads. We need to cut costs and make life more affordable for working people.
ICYMI: The crushing blow to the Voting Rights Act undermines decades of progress toward fair representation and voting rights protections. Every American deserves an equal say in our democracy.
This National Police Week, we honor the officers who work every day to keep our communities safe. We remember those we’ve lost in the line of duty and thank law enforcement families alongside them.
ICYMI: Last week I was proud to recognize students in our district who participated in this year’s Congressional Art Competition. From Urbana to Belleville, it’s clear that we have talented artists from all corners of the district.

Last week, I met with my Agricultural Advisory Council at the NCERC in Edwardsville to listen to our farmers and discuss my efforts to strengthen the Farm Bill, lower the cost of fertilizer, and give farmers the tools they need to keep feeding our communities.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures across IL-13 who keep our families and communities strong. Thank you for the countless ways you lead with love and care.
This week, we honor the nurses who keep our communities healthy. Thank you for your dedication, kindness and unwavering selflessness.
Every year the Congressional Art Competition comes around, I’m more and more impressed by the talent we have in our district.
This year, I’m excited to announce our winner, Urbana's very own Charlotte Lin, from University Laboratory High School, for her piece “Liminal." 🎨
Yesterday I convened my Agriculture Advisory Council at the NCERC in Edwardsville! 🌽
We discussed opportunities to strengthen the Farm Bill, my work to bring down fertilizer prices, and the policies we need in Washington to help farmers weather this year of uncertainty.
I met with the new Executive Director of Downtown Springfield, Inc. and My Heart is Downtown to talk about our shared vision for the future of the area.
We discussed efforts to bring in more businesses, attract more people, and build a downtown that our whole community can be proud of.
Right now, the national gas average is costing folks $4.50 a gallon.
And the President isn’t doing a single thing to ease the burden on working people.
