I am heavy-hearted to learn that a federal appeals court ruled against Mahmoud Khalil. The Trump administration’s persecution of him is unconscionable.
I stand with Mahmoud and the Constitution. Khalil has not been rearrested. This legal battle is not over.

On Secretary Noem's watch, ICE agents have terrorized our communities and murdered American citizens.
She needs to go.
Trump’s rhetoric and threats towards Greenland are extremely dangerous.
Republicans must stand with us to block this insanity.
ICE misused deadly force on Nicole Renee Good, and Noem defended it with lies.
I just signed legislation to impeach her.
My full statement:
I applaud the moral clarity of the prosecutors in Minnesota who have resigned in rejection of DOJ’s request to investigate the wife of Renee Nicole Good.
Witch hunts are not justice.
ICE’s excessive brutality should terrify all of us.
It is our right and our duty as members of Congress to speak out for what is right and stand up for our constituents. There is no other way.
I applaud the brave protesters in Iran who are demanding freedom and dignity in the face of violent repression. We must listen and stand with them as they fight for their future.
My heart is with the Beth Israel congregation in Mississippi after this horrific arson attack.
Everyone deserves to worship without fear. We must unequivocally condemn bigotry and violence in all forms and stand with those targeted by hate.
The Fed is meant to be independent and data-driven, so our nation's monetary policy isn't subject to the whim of a party.
I am grateful to Jerome Powell for taking that charge seriously and standing up for what's right in the face of this senseless partisan investigation.

Trump’s reason for interfering in the Warner Bros. deal: control over movie night.
Mega-mergers hurt American consumers and line pockets in the C-suite. We need more competition, not less.
I’m watching the Warner Bros. acquisition closely.
I was excited to see the War Powers Resolution pass the Senate yesterday, and I look forward to voting for it in the House.
We need to be clear: Trump does not have a blank check for war. Invading other nations is under the purview of Congress.
What Americans needed from DHS: a factual statement of remorse regarding the shooting of Renee Nicole Good.
What we got: twisted lies, homophobia, and Kristi Noem in an oversized cowboy hat.
Shame.
The Trump Admin's explanations don't survive contact with reality.
We all saw what happened: ICE gunned down an American citizen, and we want answers. Now.
Millions of Americans risk losing health care.
But don’t worry—Republicans are busy debating showerhead legislation on the Floor right now.
Give me a break.
The Trump administration is willing to pour billions into foreign wars while Americans lose access to health care at home. Extending the ACA tax credits saves lives here—and that should be our priority.
I will fight with everything I have to bring justice for today's deadly Minneapolis shooting and ICE's horrific violence.
My heart is with the victim and the Minneapolis community. This is not the first time ICE officials have used lethal force despite the absence of a clear threat. I stand with Senator Smith - ICE needs to leave.
Expired ACA tax credits risk crushing Vermont's 78,000 small businesses - the backbone of our towns. There is no reason to inflict this suffering on our people and our economy.
