Wishing students, teachers, counselors, and administrators all across CD5 a wonderful back to school season! 🎒✏️ In Congress, I'll continue to fight to make sure our kids and educators have what they need to succeed.
Investments in clean energy don’t just lower costs for our communities, they also create good-paying jobs in CD5.  Threats to federal funding will mean higher costs and more layoffs – we can’t afford that.
Oregon wouldn't be Oregon without our rural small businesses – they create jobs and make our communities stronger. Yesterday, I teamed up with the @newdemcoalition.bsky.social and @salinas.house.gov in Silverton for a discussion on how we can best support our rural entrepreneurs.
Yesterday, New Dems @salinas.house.gov & @bynum.house.gov teamed up in Silverton, OR for the ninth stop of our New Dems On The Road Tour! Grateful to the local government officials, nonprofit groups, & business leaders for a roundtable on how Congress can support rural economic development.
As we continue to make our way through wildfire season, I want to make sure you have what you need to prepare and protect yourself and others. Visit my website for resources to help with wildfire damage, information on how to set alerts, and more ⬇️ bynum.house.gov/wildfire-res...
"Alligator Alcatraz" should have never opened in the first place. It's unsafe, uninhabitable, and a violation of human rights. That's why I led my colleagues to demand DHS and ICE shut it down.
My heart breaks for the students, teachers, and families in Minneapolis today. It's long past time we actually DO SOMETHING about this. As I get ready to head back to DC next week, we better be voting on bills to keep our kids and communities safe.
As our kids are getting ready to start up the new school year, they should feel excited to see their friends again, motivated for their new classes, even nervous for the challenges of a new year – they should NOT be feeling fear.
(2/2): If you or someone you know needs support during this difficult time, please call or text the Disaster Distress Helpline at 1 (800) 985-5990. My office is also ready and able to assist with questions about federal resources – give us a call at (503) 387-8651.
Republicans’ budget doesn’t just strip millions Americans of access to healthcare, it’s threatening jobs and raising costs. In Oregon, 8,300 manufacturing and energy jobs are at risk, and families across CD5 could see their electricity bills rise by over $400. 🗑️🗑️🗑️
While facilities like Mompano Solar are working to keep energy bills low for Oregonians, the Trump administration is pulling funding for clean and affordable electricity. I joined @actonclimateus.bsky.social to demand funding be restored – our families can't afford these cuts.
From threatening Medicaid for people with disabilities, to making it hard for families to put food on the table, to limiting access to education, the trash budget is hurting Oregonians. Here are some stories I’ve received from constituents across CD5. They deserve better.
Molalla, tonight is the night! Join me at Molalla High School at 6:00PM for an in-person town hall. Doors open at 5:30PM – bring your questions and bring the energy 💪 Let’s give ‘em hell!
Molalla, it’s time to give ‘em hell! Join me for an in-person town hall at Molalla High School on Monday, August 25th at 6:00PM PT. I hope to see you there!
