Local coffee roasters in Portland are having to pay higher costs because of Trump’s tariffs, and are expecting even more price hikes in the future.
Our economy can’t handle any more of these chaotic policies – he needs to get it under control.

🚨 Evacuation orders have have been issued for parts of Deschutes County due to the ongoing Flat Fire. 🚨
I’m praying for the safety of all Oregonians.
Check with your local public safety officials for updates and you can find more info on the fire here:

That's why I introduced my Microplastics Safety Act – to require the FDA to conduct research so we can get the information we need to protect our health.
We can't wait and see what happens – we need more information, and we need it now. 🧵 2/2
The amount of microplastics found in human brains grew 50% between 2016 and 2024, but we still don't have a full understanding of what that means for our wellbeing. 🧵 1/2

The Republican budget is threatening $15 billion in federal funding for health and food programs in Oregon.
Over 60,000 people in CD5 are now at risk of losing access to SNAP, all so President Trump could help out his billionaire friends. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – trash.
While President Trump and Republicans work overtime to make school less accessible, I’m fighting to make sure every kid gets a fair shot.
That’s why I introduced my IDEA Full Funding Act – to provide our students with disabilities with the quality education they deserve.
Molalla, it’s time to give ‘em hell!
Join me for an in-person town hall at Molalla High School on Monday, August 25th at 6:00PM PT.
I hope to see you there!
Instead of offering support to communities rebuilding from last year's wildfire season, the USDA has put $90 million in federal funding for wildfire mitigation on hold.
This is a step in the wrong direction – our communities deserve support, not broken promises.

Cuts to the Pell grant program in President Trump and Republicans’ trash budget threaten funding for over 42,000 students in Oregon, including nearly 15,000 in CD5.
We need to be making education more affordable and accessible for our kids, not less.
President Trump and Republicans' cuts to Medicaid leave 10 million Americans at risk of losing access to healthcare. It’s unacceptable.
I won't stop fighting to protect this essential program.

Calling all young coders – have you submitted your application for the Congressional App challenge yet? The deadline is October 30th, 2025 – don’t miss it!

President Trump's attacks on mail-in voting are all about him – voting should be about the people. All eligible voters deserve to be heard.
Getting rid of vote-by-mail would make it harder for Oregonians – and Americans – to use their voices, and that's exactly what he wants. I won't stand for it.
Costs for businesses are rising thanks to Trump's tariffs, and we need to get to the bottom of what this means for consumers.
I'm here to lower costs for Oregonians – that's why I introduced my Protecting Families from Inflation Act.

August is peak wildfire season here in Oregon, so I was grateful to meet with firefighters out in Redmond to discuss ways they are preparing and protecting our communities.
I’ll always fight to make sure our local fire departments have what they need to keep us safe at home.
Thank you to the amazing officials at the Redmond Public Safety Facility for giving me a tour of their new center.
By putting the Police Department, fire, and EMS services all under one roof, the facility is decreasing response times, improving coordination, and making CD5 safer.
The $87 million in federal funding Trump is stealing from our state could help lower energy costs for over 8,000 Oregonians.
The EPA needs to reinstate the Solar for All program immediately – we should be making life more affordable, not less.

The aircrews at the Redmond Air Center play a key role in fighting wildfires across Central Oregon.
Today, I got to tour their air center, check out some of the aircrafts, and meet with the brave forest service representatives who keep our communities safe.

The $14 million in federal funding I fought for will help our community invest in projects from expanding water infrastructure, to constructing Early Childhood Centers, to building affordable housing.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
