THREE of my bipartisan bills to help small businesses passed the House this week! Small businesses are the backbone of our communities – these bills will help them start off strong.
Everywhere I go in my district, my constituents tell me to fight back against sweeping cuts to Social Security. Today, I met with @aarporegon.bsky.social reps to discuss how we can best help our seniors retire with dignity and the importance of protecting this essential program.
We’re halfway through the Give ‘Em Hell Tour, but we’re not slowing down! Redmond, you’re up! I’ll be at Ridgeview High School this Saturday at 11:00AM. I hope you’ll join me!
Too often, our small businesses get the short end of the stick. That’s why I introduced three bipartisan bills to help small businesses cut through red tape and get a strong start. Last night, they passed the House.
It’s been three years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and stripped millions of women of their right to choose. We will never let up in the fight for reproductive freedom.
Too many young Americans believe that owning a home is not in the cards for them. Instead of cutting funding to key programs that are working to address the affordable housing crisis, Trump and Republicans need to come to the table to work towards a solution.
Fun fact: Nike’s global headquarters are in Oregon! 👟 I got a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility today, and the opportunity to talk to staff about the role Nike plays in our state economy, what products they think are the next big thing, and their favorite parts of the job.
I was proud to stand alongside @wyden.senate.gov, @repbonamici.bsky.social, and all of you incredible leaders. Together, we will continue to shine a light through the darkness and speak out against injustices. It’s your stories that power this fight.
Today, we heard from healthcare providers, @seiu.org members, faith leaders, and caregivers about how cuts to Medicaid and SNAP will devastate our communities. Republicans are leaving them behind to line the pockets of billionaires. We won’t let them.
As we honor #Juneteenth, let us reflect on the generations of strength and resilience in the fight for justice. Amidst dangerous divisions being sown by this administration, we must continue to stand together, with courage, to protect our rights and defend our communities.
Too often, small businesses face stricter reporting requirements, which are time-consuming and a significant obstacle to growth. My bipartisan ELEVATE Act would cut through this red tape. It’s already passed out of committee – it's time for Republicans to put it up for a vote.
Republicans’ trash budget rips health insurance away from 13.7 million Americans, including 25,000+ people in CD5. They’re taking that money and handing it out to their billionaire buddies. I’m fighting back to make sure everyone can get – and afford – the care they need.
Our student athletes deserve to benefit off of the revenue they generate for their schools. That’s why I introduced the College SPORTS Act. As a mom of a D1 football player, I know just how important it is to let students earn their fair share.
Thank you for an amazing fifth stop on the Give ‘Em Hell Tour, Lake Oswego! And thank you to our amazing emcees, Shari Dunn and Rukaiyah Adams. President Trump is trying to pit Americans against Americans, and we won’t let that happen. We’re standing up and fighting back.
My office is closely monitoring the Alder Springs Fire, which has spread into parts of Deschutes and Jefferson Counties. If you are in the evacuation zone, please listen to local authorities and visit centraloregonfire.org for real-time updates and protocol.
Republicans' trash bill would require people experiencing disabilities to re-apply for their Medicaid benefits every six months. Leticia from THRIVE Oregon shared how this will create additional barriers for her clients and lead to them losing access to services they rely on.
Sweeping cuts to AmeriCorps by the Trump administration left organizations like Bend Redmond Habitat for Humanity without support. Although a court ruling brought back some projects, the 700+ staff members nationwide that were fired still haven't been reinstated. Watch ⬇️
