In 2025 alone, our country has already experienced over 125 mass shootings. During National #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth, we recognize the heartbreaking toll that gun violence takes on our communities and recommit to the fight to end gun violence.
The attack in Boulder is another horrifying, heartbreaking, and despicable example of antisemitic violence that is rising in communities across the country. As we pray for the victims, we all have an obligation to condemn this rise in hate and violence targeted at Jewish communities.
Eight people were injured Sunday in downtown Boulder, Colo., in an incendiary attack the FBI is investigating as an act of terror against a group advocating for the release of hostages in Gaza.
As President Trump’s tariff taxes & funding freezes raise the costs of school supplies, groceries, and other everyday goods, schools across the country are struggling to keep up. It’s a self-inflicted challenge that will hurt students & communities nationwide. www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...
As a long-time supporter of National WWI Museum and Memorial, I was grateful to receive a tour to see the latest upgrades and plans to celebrate the centennial of this iconic monument in #MO05.
The WWI Memorial has been a landmark in Kansas City for nearly a century, memorializing those who served in the Great War and bringing tourists from around the world to hear their stories.
Meanwhile, the President is commuting the sentence of a notoriously violent gang leader at the advice of an individual who just released a song entitled, “Heil Hitler”. It’s shameful, embarrassing, and damaging to our communities. www.nbcnews.com/politics/jus...
Good to see federal courts do their job in checking the illegal overreach of the Executive Branch. If only Republicans in Congress would do the same. Either way, @housedemocrats.bsky.social will continue to push back on the lawlessness emanating from the White House. rollcall.com/2025/05/28/f...
Most Americans are already struggling with the cost of living. So why are Republicans fighting to rip healthcare and food assistance away from working class families to pay for more tax cuts for billionaires like Elon Musk? www.cbsnews.com/news/cost-of...
At a time when income inequality is at historic levels and working class families are pleading for relief, congressional Republicans are fighting to make the largest cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in American history—all to fund more tax cuts for the top 1% of families.
Putin has been stringing President Trump along, embarrassing him for months, as he continues to bomb innocent civilians and Ukrainian freedom fighters defending their homeland. It’s about time the president toughened up, enacted sanctions, and provided additional aid to Ukraine.
Russia launched its largest-ever drone-and-missile assault on Ukraine, defying President Trump’s calls for an end to the bombardment.
Charlie Rangel was a dear friend, a devoted public servant, and a giant that helped pave the way for lawmakers like myself. My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire Rangel family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his legacy be preserved and may his memory be a blessing.
Breaking News: Charles Rangel, the former dean of New York’s congressional delegation who became the first Black chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, died at 94.
As Americans continue to struggle with our national housing affordability crisis, I introduced the American Housing and Economic Mobility Act with @warren.senate.gov & @warnock.senate.gov, which will help build 3 million new homes and bring down rents by 10%. cleaver.house.gov/media-center...
President Trump said he would fight for working class families. Instead, he’s implementing the same trickle-down economics that have failed American workers for decades, fighting to enact the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in history.
